Easy flat ride from downtown Banff, along Bow River, to Vermillion Lakes. Bring your camera. The Bow River and lakes are very picturesque.

Cyclists were a hazard as usual. They were always speeding except for one family. Views of the lake were nice, but the trail did not have any down to the lakes.

We had a relaxing drive along the edge of Vermilion Lakes after visiting the lakes on the Minnewanka Loop Drive. The lakes were pretty but no match for the more beautiful lakes we had just seen.

Again a lovely area to walk round or sit and admire the mountains. Wildlife amazing too, was lucky to see a couple of bears and elk.

We did not see any bears at the Vermillions - on two different early mornings. Still a gorgeous and tranquil destination.

Yes, You can have dinner at the restaurant in the Juniper Hotel. It is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Norquay and the dinning room has an excellent view of Vermillion Lakes.
