Vermillion Lakes are a let down- these are 3 swampy, marshy Lakes near Banff which do not look good and have a brackish, Not blue, color. There are a lot of Mosquitos here and not much else. I saw people jogging and I couldn't imagine...More

Approximately an hours walk from the centre of Banff, passing the rail station, through a park area and onto a quiet road to two lakes. Beautiful views from the small piers, but hum of traffic from the nearby dual carriageway. Worth the walk! There is a...More

Vermillion Lakes was our favorite photo location in Banff. There are three lakes with each one having its own character. Fall is a beautiful time to visit as the sun lights up the shrubs and grasses dressed in their fall colors. You will also find...More

We took a short around the lake. Parking is not an issue. We did see a number of brides having their photos taken with the scenic background! Nice and peaceful and loved the mountain view.

Yes, You can have dinner at the restaurant in the Juniper Hotel. It is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Norquay and the dinning room has an excellent view of Vermillion Lakes.
