The hotel is gorgeous. The high tea was delicious with lovely panoramic views. Gluten free was not a problem which surprised me for high tea.

We enjoyed the free tour. We got to the area right above the front desk on M1 a little before the tour started to look at the old photos and items on display. The guide pointed out several highlights and common factoids about the Hotel,...More

Tour is well worth the time. It is usually between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. It is an easy walk from downtown Banff. You will hear lots of history and ghost stories. The view from the hotel is awesome!! Do not miss this if you are...More

This Hotel was built and rebuilt many times going back to the 1880's. The front with it's lighter colored stone is the newest portion. Some if the meeting rooms reminds me if being in an old English castle. Something different at each turn and section.

Lovely to see this piece of history and read about the development of the railroad and the town of Banff. A quote that stuck is " Since we can't export the scenery we'll have to import the tourists". Obviously they have done a fine job...More

We did not do the tour and I couldn't get the hotel to come up by itself. What a beautiful hotel. We had gone to the Bow Falls and walked up the hill to the hotel. Decided we should eat there and went to the...More

I thought it was going to be a tour of the property and kind of a "what to do." Instead it was the history of the hotel and a mini-tour. The guide was entertaining. Would be better if the pictures he showed was a slide...More

All though we only had time for a shortened version we had a very informative speaker (Tony?). I learned more about the hotel and got to see some rooms that I probably would not have wandered into. Thanks for the tour.

I have a free pass to do the Banff Springs hotel tour. I live just down the road and can see the hotel from my balcony and I also caught the ski shuttle from the hotel all throughout the ski season, now I would like to know a little about this iconic Banff landmark. Can anyone tell me how long the tour takes?

I have seen the outside of this hotel many, many times & have always wondered what it looked like up close. I understand that there are tours that you can take. Is it worth the tour? How much is the tour? Since the place looks so posh, is there a dress code in order to go on the tour? Do you have to book this tour in advance? Is there more than one tour a day? What times are the tours? Thanks in advance for any information that anyone can provide.

You can wear whatever you want nowadays wherever you go. I've travelled many countries & stayed in many so called "posh" hotels but I think Iran is the only country where I was looked at in a disapproving manner because... More
