This was our second Via Ferrata (first in Tahoe last year) and we did the Skyline rout which was AMAZING!
We are a couple of middle aged ladies (old friends from college) who enjoy physical challenges and adventure, and this was just challenging (ack!) enough to get my heart racing and motivate my training for 4 months before hand to be still be able to hike for 4-5 hours comfortably.
Our guide was friendly, knowledgable, patient and a very good teacher - explained things well and demonstrated while explaining.
I highly recommend the Skyline rout for its variety (wire crossing/ladder/suspension bridge), breath taking views and challenging climbs, that pushed me to work through my fears and work hard - feeling like a substantial accomplishment!

We did the 4 hr Ridgewalker tour on the Via Ferrata (4 adults, 4 teenagers ages 13-16) led by our amazing guide Jazz. What a thrill! The tour was just the right length for our first experience doing a via ferrata. It had the perfect balance between hiking, climbing and pausing to soaking the gorgeous scenery. Jazz was entertaining but was also very attentive to our safety, concerns and fears. She made sure we felt confident in doing everything that we needed to climb to the top safely! She pointed out great photo spots and made sure to capture lots of group photos of the 8 of us en route. Highly recommend. Can't wait for an opportunity to try one of their other tours.

When I realized we were going to be climbing the side of a mountain, I honestly thought about turning around and going back down the chair lift. Luckily, Zach was our guide and he immediately made me feel calmer and more confident. I'm SO glad I continued. Although I was scared at times (due to the height) I'm so glad I did this with my family. They all loved it and it really was an adventure. These guides have seen everything and know how to handle every situation. Zach was the reason this all went so well. Thank you.

We had a fantastic experience on the Explorer Trail (2.5 hr). Everyone from the 16 year old to the 79 year old had an amazing time. Our guide Addy was excellent, the equipment was clearly sturdy and safe and the trails gave incredible views of Banff and the surrounding mountain ranges. This experience was thrilling and we always felt safe. There were parts that challenged our fears of heights but it was physically very do-able. Would highly recommend this memorable experience!

What an amazing experience! My family of four (including a 13 and 16 year old) did the Ridgewater course. Absolutely amazing! While the cost may be a bit on the expensive side for a whole family, it is definitely an experience not to be missed while visiting Banff. Definitely worth the money. Jazz was a fantastic guide. She was engaging with all members of the group and ensured everyone had a great experience!

Me and my sister did the Skyline tour (5 hours). You get the safety gear but can also borrow jackets, backpacks and shoes depending on availability (free of charge!). Our guide Zach was really enthusiastic and friendly and guided us through the tour with ease. I would definitely recommend this tour!
You don’t need any previous mountaineering/climbing experience as everything will be explained. However, for your own pleasure I would recommend a basic level of fitness to be able to enjoy the tour.

As a family of 4 who wanted to experience an adventure we got it with this tour! Our guide Katsu was TOP NOTCH - he is incredibly patient, kind and encouraging. I also decended the mountain with Brandon, a born and raised Calgarian who was also very kind and caring. They will move at your pace and take little breaks as needed. I signed up for the Ridge Walker but pivoted to do the Explorer route. I became too nervous, this isn't a leisurely walk on a trail - it is active climbing and clipping in, up and down a real mountain. I had seen comments in here that it's not "true" mountain climbing etc but I can tell you it is challenging both physically and mentally and yes there are rungs embedded for your use but it's not like walking up a set of stairs. In contrast to this my kids are completely pumped to do a longer route again one day - they absolutely loved it. My husband said the Ridge Walker was challenging for him and there were some really tricky spots that made it just that much more memorable. We haven't stopped reminiscing about every moment on this adventure and even though I personally found it tough I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it if you think your heart can take it.

This was going to be the key experience for our 8 day trip to Banff.
My fiancé was very much looking forward to this (and I was more than a little hesitant)….but we were both blown away.
What a great experience. We walk regularly…but would not be considered ‘hikers’.
Everything about this was tremendous.
We booked ourselves initially on the 2 hour starter climb…but we experienced lightning just as we reached the start of the climb. The base communicated quickly to our guide and it was cancelled.
After seeing the mountain top, and seeing what we would be doing up close, we went back down the mountain and upgraded to the 4 hour ‘Ridgewalker’ climb on a later day. Boy! Are we glad we did!
The views are extraordinary. It is challenging but exhilarating.
I can’t say enough about all the staff…especially the guides.
We had Jack on the first day and Addie on the second day (when we actually climbed).
Both guides were professional about their safety role, but had a relaxed and friendly demeanour that left us all with confidence. They were patient, and encouraging for all skill levels in our group.
You could not wipe the smiles off our faces.
What a tremendous experience.

As someone who doesn’t enjoy heights but likes a challenge, the Via Ferrara summit route was a big test of will. However, it was one of the best things I have ever done.

We were accompanied by Katsu who was a brilliant guide. He put as at ease when required and made average climbers feel like they had more than enough skill to reach the top.

Although the challenges are daunting on the way up, the rewards are huge. The view from the top of Norquay was one of the best we saw all trip. Far better than any paid gondola or skywalk!

This was one my favorite experiences so far in banff! It was an amazing climb with the best views. I did the alpinist and thought it was a solid workout, not too hard but definitely aimed to someone who is in moderate shape. Our guide katsu, was so patient and so much fun! Overall 10/10 experience, would recommend again and again!
