We saw pikas and they were the cutest things. The only thing is that the water level was low when we went (mid-late August) so there was no water... The views are breathtaking regardless!!

We experienced a blizzard at the peak but it was worth the views below.

We left early to start our hike and on our descent (in the afternoon) it became quite congested.

This is a great hike! It's relatively easy, with a good trail on an easy grade leading to a lovely open Cirque. There's a good amount of parking and adequate pit toilets. There are picnic tables at the trailhead, but they have closed the picnic shelter for COVID. We love this hike in the spring for the wildflowers. For more intrepid hikers, a steep hike beyond the Cirque leads to a great viewpoint of the stunning Lake Minnewanka. On this last visit, we saw lots of wildlife and wildflowers.

the hike up was great, with a great view of Lake Minnewanka if you take a very brief detour to the right at the coal mine up onto the old coal slag. But the avalanche run at the end is almost unprecedented. Really great place for lunch after a good hike up.

We hiked to the top of the hike which was steep but not too challenging. The views did not justify the hike. On the way down we saw someone else who pointed us in the direction of the most amazing view of the lake located behind a mine shaft. The mine shaft is fenced In and you can safely walk around the fence and through the trees to the view. Thai is the view you want and means you don't have to go all the way to the top

This is a very defined, wide trail that steadily goes up. My daughter has CP and uses loft strand crutches...and we made it to the bench & structure (about 1 mile up). I look forward to completing the loop. Highly recommend.

I was disappointed with this trail but it was picked at the last minute after needing to arrange our schedules for the people we were traveling with. We made it to the "rock park" at the top of the cirque and called it quits. After viewing pictures, we obviously should have kept going. However, the first 2 hours are straight up through the woods, are pretty thick, and there's not much to see until getting to the cirque. Our view of Banff from the cirque was rather smoky and hazy which made it disappointing too. Additionally, if you're using roam, it's probably about a mile and half from the roam stop in the metro parking lot.

Steep initial walk was rewarded with great fees of the natural amphitheatre in the mountain. Few hundred metres more and the view of the Bow valley opened up behind. Well worth going the extra distance up the trail at the bottom of the scree bed. Up and down was about 4 hours but well worth it. Trail was busy as we came down so advise getting there before 9:00 if you want the trail to yourself.

Living in Calgary for many years now, last week was the first time we hiked up to Cirque Peak past Helen lake. The hike is easy from the parking lot to Helen lake. There is a short part to scramble up the rocks ones closer to the top. The last 300 meters are very steep and takes a while to reach to summit. Worthwhile to see this million dollar view. Make sure you have the ride clothing with you, we where surprised by a freak thunder storm.

This trail has all kinds of highlights, there are old buildings and mines. Views. Incredible plant and tree life, not to mention marmots and pica!
