We walked the trail from the Banff Museum along the river and across the pedestrian bridge to the falls. It is an easy walk and provides many great views of the river, the falls, and the surrounding mountains. It's also a nice way to walk to the Banff Springs Hotel without walking along roads with traffic.

Cross the river by the new footbridge, and head off down the river. The first section is pretty flat, but there is a set of steps up and down at the falls end. Good views of the falls. Good fun.

Staying in Banff for a few days and discvered this wee gem. A fairly easy walk along a beautiful riverbank leading to a spectacular waterfall. Well worth the effort.

Walking the trail from Banff to Bow Falls was very picturesque, and the Falls were beautiful! The peaceful trail with the exhilarating sounds of the Falls is worth the visit!

Bow Falls is a shallow (about nine metres) but wide waterfall caused by a change in course of the Bow River. Popular for both its beauty and easy access, it is situated near the town of Banff by the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course on the left-hand side of River Road. Further along, the Bow River mingles with the Spray River. Budget about 15 minutes. There are also family-friendly walking trails near the falls and space to picnic. Parking is available in a nearby lot at no cost. Access to Bow Falls is free with Banff National Park admission. Bow Falls appeared in the 1953 film “River of No Return” staring Marilyn Monroe.

Spectacular falls on the Bow River in Banff. Don’t just watch from the car park, walk the trail further up to see them develop.

Saw the Bow Falls while hiking the Bow River Loop! Stunning sight to see! They are not very tall, but absolutely powerful falls. When walking along the trail near the falls, you can hear the thunderous crashing of the water, whilst a nice light mist of glacial water cools your skin. Also, Elk are commonly seen along the Bow River Loop trail, which contains the falls, which I loved as a nature lover! Amazing experience!

The gentle walk along the Bow Falls offers stunning scenery and the opportunity to take a lovely hour long raft tour along the river. Our guide Kim was full of interesting information about the areas wildlife, fauna flora and geology. We visited Banff at the end of a busy sightseeing holiday in Canada and this was a lovely relaxing way to end our holiday. Easy to reach from the town and on the doorstep of Banff Springs hotel.

We visited Bow Falls during our recent stay in Banff, what's surprising is that the fall's are only a short walk outside Banff, just go over the bridge and you'll be there in 10 mins. really worth seeing as part of your stay in Banff.
