Lake Loose was extremely busy during the day however we visited at 7am when the sin was rising and had the most spectacular views. Very few tourists there at this time and well worth getting up early for.

This is a very memorable place with the lake perfectly framed by its surrounding mountains. But the visitors - omg - from morning to dusk "silly posing" their selfies. The walk around the lake is well worthwhile as you get to escape all but the...More

The view is breath taking. You can do a slow walk along the lake or hike up the mountain to the glacier. You can hire a canoe and explore the lake.

I feel like there are much prettier lakes in Banff and Yoho. The large glacier at the back side of the lake was beautiful to look at as the sunset behind it. There are many trails you can hike here but we ran out of...More

This may be the most beautiful lake in the world. We were enchanted by the spectacular beauty, the sparkling light on the water, the vista of a distant glacial mountain, framed by the mountains closer to the lake. The day we were there, people were...More

Lake Louise is an icon, recognized by name and photos worldwide. It is one of the most beautiful spots in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Although overrun by tourists meanwhile, during shoulder season you can still enjoy that nature experience.

A nice mountain like surronded by beautiful mountains, but it feels more like a subway platform than a national park.

Peyto Lake trumps this in my opinion especially due to how many ppl visit Louise...but this is a gorgeous spot nonetheless.

Such a beautiful place with great hiking and one of the most beautiful Lakes I have ever seen! Despite the tourist crowds it is a must see. A short way into any hike the tourists seem to vanish. But get there early if you want...More

A must visit place. It is about 45 minute from Banff. Spectacular view. I come on low season around mid of October and very packed with visitors. The colour of the water is really nice blue.

Hi Annette ... There are canoe rentals at the boathouse on the west shore of the lake. However, life jackets are a must when you are canoeing, especially with children. It is a great experience, but I would ask at the... More
