Can understand why the place is so crowded. It's a beautiful lake! A color that you can't image... Many visitors only hike around half the lake- or go to/from the 2 tea houses. Trails can be really crowded, but still worth seeing!

Lake Louise was the place I was most looking forward to seeing in Canada. I had heard about the crowds this summer and the parking then shuttle situation. So we felt blessed to be staying onsite at the Fairmont. Yes there were crowds (it was...More

We were fortunate to spend a couple of nights at the Fairmont Chateau overlooking the lake. Summer or winter this venue has spectacular views and walks around (or on if frozen) the lake you can hire a canoe but it is a good walk around...More

I was so looking forward to seeing this "famous" lake! Unfortunately, due to forest fires in Kootenay National Park, the mountains were hidden by the smoke haze and the lake was more of a gray in color vs the turquoise blue I had seen in...More

This is the most photographed view in the Rockies, and deservedly so. It is a stunning place, visited by thousands each year. You can walk, have coffee in the luxury hotel or just chill taking in the atmosphere.

Stunned by the view of this place, i couldnt believe if it was real. The mountains on both side creating a passage towards the ice mountain peak, is the most picture perfect view you would ever witness. The Fairmont hotel at this destination which has...More

Not the fault of anyone, but the smoke obliterated the view at the end of the lake and hung over most of the mountains. Very busy nonetheless and had we not been staying at a local hotel I doubt whether I would have tried to...More

Very commercialised in Lake Louise itself, but amazing lake, and the view of the glacier is brilliant.

We walked the Faiview Lookout Trail. We were advised by rangers to wear hiking boots since there was still some snow. All in all a good climb up hill but worth the effort. The outlook is magnificent.

Hi Annette ... There are canoe rentals at the boathouse on the west shore of the lake. However, life jackets are a must when you are canoeing, especially with children. It is a great experience, but I would ask at the... More
