This is a scenic lake with majestic mountains as a backdrop. From the ground level, one can debate whether Moraine Lake is just as beautiful as Lake Louise, but near the parking lot is the Rockpile. There is a 1/4 mile trail consisting of rock...More

I'm not usually super taken by scenery but this was one of the best places we stopped to look around in the whole of Canada. Magnificent scenery.

Beautiful scenery. Good parking but may have to park on road during holidays as it gets very busy. Worth the climb to the viewpoints for better views of lake. Food, shop etc available

A must visit place enjoyed by many lovely lake and mountains colours spectacular didn't see that much wildlife on our trek just squirrels and the odd mouse. The pine tree aromas and quiet make this place very special. Put it on your list of things...More

Truly a must-see lake just a short drive from Lake Louise. Get to the trail head early for parking, or go later in the early evening, otherwise you have to park a long distance away and get shuttled to the trail head which can take...More

Be sure to hike up onto the rock pathway in order to see the entire splendor of this lake. You can also canoe out onto it from down below

What a stunning place. We think it is slightly better than Lake Louise. We just made the last parking space, so try and get here early in the day, parking is at a premium. Absolutely beautiful.

Fun day trip to hike by a beautiful mountain lake. Recommend reading up about the lake before you visit so as to fully understand this unique place and historic significance.

Did not see any cruises on Lake Moraine. A canoe might be more practical as its a fairly small lake compared to Lake Louise for example.

In all likelihood you are confusing the two 'M' lakes, Moraine & Maligne (near Jasper), or possibly a third 'M' lake, Minnewanka (nearer to the town of Bannf). Minnewanka & Maligne both have cruises, but Moraine does not... More

Yes, no problem! It's not that hard to paddle around, you'll have enough time to see the lake.
