This was our third snowshoe adventure with Joel and we had a wonderful time. We always see something new and learn from him. We highly recommend booking a tour with him.

Thanks, Teresa. I'm so glad you got the "warmest" day during the Christmas deep freeze. I'll look forward to your next visit, whenever you and C. are able to get back to the Rockies.

We went for a very chilly New Years snowshoe hike with Joel and it was excellent! He was prepared (even brought a birthday candle for our 10 year old son), knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining. I run an organization in Wisconsin that hosts nearly 300 nature-based field trips annually and I can tell you that Joel provides a level of interpretation, fun, energy, and leadership that I wish we could consistently provide. Highest recommendation. Thank you Joel.

Joel was a wealth of information! He accommodated my last minute snowshoeing request and I'm so glad he did. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learning the stories the trees told all while taking in the beautiful surroundings. I was fascinated to learn about the lichens too. The hot tea and homemade bar "picnic" was a nice touch. Thank you for a great experience.

Thanks, Anna. Sorry for the late response to your review. It's been a busy few weeks. I'm glad you enjoyed our snowshoeing trek. I was back up in the same area yesterday, and there's been so much snow in the last few weeks that I couldn't even find where we went! Happy New Year.

Hi, Joel made the entire experience as pleasant as could possibly be. From the onset, he spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone, trying to understand exactly who is in my party, the levels of endurance and interests. He also sent me several emails with a plethora of useful information regarding the area as well as what to expect and bring on the day of the hike as well as for the trip in general. The day before the trip he called again to make sure we remember to bring everything we would need and to finalize the meeting etc. Joel made a wonderful effort to engage all of us and try to find our interests and speak about them. He is a fountain of information. I don't think we managed to stomp him with a single question and we had many. He knows the area like the back of his hand and is very apt at story telling. He made a theme for the hike, in our case forest fires are good. He did a great job of incorporating the theme into the hike, whereby it felt like a natural part of it. By the end of the hike, he drove his point across and we all understood why forest fires are an integral part of the ecosystem and are paramount in the evolution of the forests. We highly recommend anyone at any age or any level of fitness to hire Joel for their hikes in the Rockies. You will not regret it

Thanks for your review, Y. I'm pleased that you three enjoyed our day on the trail, despite the forest fire smoke. And I appreciate you highlighting all the pre-trip planning and consultation that goes on before one of my guided hikes. All the best from Lake Louise.

Joel gave countless bits of information throughout the hike. Things like how the glacier lakes get their blue-green color, and how the waters recede in the winter months and just so many other facts that we would have never known. His information made a very nice hike a great hike. I highly recommend Great Adventure.

Thanks Paul. It's always worth it to be with people when they see their first glacial lake. The 'wow' factor is real, and the 'how' of it is pretty neat as well.
