Spectacular 7+ mile moderate hike that starts off easy then moves to steep switchbacks that end in stunning views of the ten peaks and Paradise Valley. Go early, bring lots of water, and take your time. The scenery is stunning and the hike is a...More

This is an absolutely awesome hike up to Sentinel Pass with amazing views on the surrounding mountain range! Last piece requires some experience in hiking, scrambles ahead! However worth the effort!

This was a stunning hike, though steep through the switch backs to the valley, with the fall colors showing in the Larch trees...breathtaking and wonderful. It was well worth the effort to get there! Another Must See!

The only way up to Sentinel Pass is to hike there -- typically either from Moraine Lake (the more popular route) or Lake Louise (the more challenging, less traveled route). Once there, the views are spectacular, especially back toward Larch Valley. The climb from Moraine...More

The first part of the hike, through lake morraine and larch valley is not too tough, until you reach the lakes at the end. Breathtaking scenery. After that it is a steep Z climb up to get to the pass. At places, the trail feels...More

I climbed Sentinel Pass on the way up Temple Mountain. Views are terrific (though obscured by smoke from the BC fires in August 2017). The hike is quite doable for anyone in good shape. Although you will be huffing and puffing up to the top,...More

LOVED this hike so much. The scenery is beautiful from start to finish, as you start in Moraine Lake and head through Larch Valley to get to Sentinel Pass. I travelled solo and met some other hikers doing the same trail at the trail head....More

We went in mid-summer, so no snow on the trail at all! Although it was in July, when we got to the top there was a strong wind and some light hail/snow, although there were few clouds above us. Definitely check with locals.
