Shocked and Disappointed. Ladies Travelling without males beware!

First off please know that there are 4-5 different websites for limo companies in Calgary/Banff area that all appear to be different companies yet they are all run by the same guy(s). Try it....ask for a quote, then call. Same guy on the other end.

'Signature Limos' did our airport pick-up and transfer to Banff. But they knew we had reservations with 'Quest Limos' for days later in Calgary. Signature driver from airport brought the future Quest Limo booking up during our pick up at the airport (so yeah same guys) and they tried to talk us out of it saying that the limo can't get close to the Saddle Dome and it's cold and a long walk. I was disappointed (and surprised at the conversation/info) but told the guys not to cancel anything....I said thanks for the info but DON'T cancel, as we needed to think/talk about it (my daughter and I) in private. My daughter was very much looking forward to the night-time limo/hockey game and so we did not cancel.

At the airport pick-up with the stretch limo, the guy was surprised to see me with my 15 year old daughter and not a male companion. When he took us a few kms away to the stretch limo that day I asked to have a minute to run into the liquor store right there to get a couple of drinks for the one hour ride to Banff and he said NO I could not buy alcohol. And I said 'huh?', 'um why not?' And he said straight faced 'because she is not of age.' And I looked him in the eye disappointed and said calmly and with a disappointed look, that I was going to grab a cold beer or two for myself (obviously)....and not my 15 year old daughter...(I mean seriously why would he think that?) The man was not impressed. He kept the separation window 1/3 open the whole ride....to watch that I don't give my 15 year old booze. Seriously. I had no intentions of letting my 15 year old drink. I am not impressed with the lack of privacy however that I would have enjoyed with my daughter and privacy is one of the reasons I ordered the limo in the first place.

So come the night (days later) for the Flames game....I had a bad feeling and double checked my email confirmation that day and made sure nothing was cancelled. At pick up time a town car (not the stretch we ordered came for pick up). The same guy driving recognized me and came over smiling. I was not smiling. I asked where the limo I ordered was and he brought up the conversation days before (during our airport pick-up with 'Signature limos'...that it would be cold...).

I looked him in the eye and said 'you know I said not to cancel'. I calmly said 'we have an hour until game time...could you please get the stretch limo we ordered. He said not possible. I asked if we could be picked up from the game then in a stretch limo at least. He said he would check...then he came back after a 2 minute call and said it wasn't possible.

I said nothing. Looked him in the eye blankly and disappointedly and my daughter and I turned on our heels and went back into our hotel. The hotel staff helped us.

We went by light-rail to the game with the help of hotel staff who had witnessed our initial disappointment and we had a $3 fun ride to the game with other Flames jersey wearing fans. We were initially disappointed but managed to get to the game on time and saved myself $180 each way plus tip. (I regret tipping the guy days before for the Banff trip. I tipped even though gratuities were included in our near $600 ride.

I am surprised these YYC/Banff limo companies (in reality all one guy/family/couple friends) get good reviews. It feels shady and somewhat a scam. Very disappointed.

I am going to add here that I feel that because we were two females I received this treatment. I feel that these guys' personal and religious values was the root cause. But that aside... know that reality is...several websites all lead to the same few guys running this operation. And it's shady and unreliable....and I am guessing even more so if you are females without a male.
