I rented a bike yesterday. Had a safety session before getting on the bike but I did not feel adequately prepared for biking with this rental bike. Rode for 2 hours, began to have an enjoyable ride and felt like I got the hang of it until my very last stop. At that point as I eased off the brake and as I started to pedal i lost total control of the bike. The motor took over and i popped a wheelie leaving me flying through the air with the bike still in motion landing on top of me. I sustained 2 deep gashes to my leg from where the bike fell on top of me. I needed an ambulance to transport me for medical care, 28 stitches to close the wound. One of the rental shop staff came to retrieve the bike as the paramedics were attending to me. I asked him what happened he said something about the throttle taking over. No apologies or concern.

Pedego Calgary sincerely regrets how your enjoyable ride ended with a not so enjoyable experience. Besides trying to provide a genuinely fun experience for all renters, it is our primary objective day in and day out to ensure that our rental fleet is continuously maintained and operates safely for all our riders. We make sure each and every rider is equipped with proper safety equipment and are provided a complete pre-ride e-bike orientation while encouraging our renters to ask any questions about the operation of the e-bike before leaving for their ride.
It is very unfortunate you had to go through the scary and not so fun experience as you described above and wishing you a quick and speedy recovery. Please be assured that even though the risk of an accident is always present regardless of the safety measures in place while operating a motorized piece of equipment on a busy pathway, Pedego Calgary always try's its best to provide it's renters with a safe and enjoyable experience.

Pedego Calgary team are incredible. We have rented several times with friends and family and I purchased my bike from them. They maintain the bikes very well, offer tips to get you going and there are a number of great trails close by to enjoy. Highly recommend Pedego! #hellofun

The bikes are highly maintained and equipped with the most recent technology. We travel quite a bit and love to be outside; therefore we rent e-bikes to "be with nature" yet see the city/province. This, by far, is the best bike we leased. If I saw the name internationally, I would not hesitate!

It was Canada Day! The bike trails were filled with red and white gear wearing bicyclers . With the electric assist bikes from Pedego Bikes we were able to travel much farther along the Bow river. Using the twist throttle made it easy to glide along and enjoy the lovely weather, the beautiful scenery and the people rafting down the Bow all along our ride.

Great way to view areas of Calgary’s river valley effortlessly in a short time. The ebikes my son and I had were well equipped and easy to learn how to ride in no time. In 2 hours we managed to travel both sides of the river East to the reservoir and even went a ways West of downtown. Much faster and more comfortable then the many scooters you see. We both had a great time and would highly recommend renting from Pedego!

In regards to the review by Mark J . My grandson and I appreciate the time the owner,Mike, has taken to resolve the problems we have had. My grandson overstepped in his review and shouldn’t have accused anyone of anything personal. My apologies. This company is doing everything in its power to honour the warranty on the bike and I would do business with them again. These are street bikes and in my opinion don’t do well on gravel roads. Once again I’m sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience the former review may have presented. Elaine Johnston

Loved the bikes, the ride and the staff at the Calgary location. There is a huge, beautiful path system in Calgary leading to both coasts of the country if you choose.

Had a great day riding around Calgary! This shop was so great…from the father and son who helped us, the actual awesome bikes, and the fantastic location - i highly recommend! The shop is located right by the river and the start of the paved bike trail that parallels the Bow River. Hubby and I rode this trail and all

Electric bikes are new to Canada; we are the only Dedicated Electric Bike dealer in Alberta. There are self guided tours using various maps. We are happy to install phone holders on your bikes. Our bikes are the very best in the city because they're Pedego! #HelloFUN
