Every July, millions of people come to Calgary's Stampede Park to take part in one of the world's largest rodeos and other popular activities such as chuckwagon racing and agricultural shows. The event's origins date back to 1912, when American Guy Weadick, a successful trick roper, got support to host an event called "Stampede" to celebrate the "disappearing" Old West. Since then, the event has grown drastically and has evolved into a celebration of the Old West, while reflecting the modern, multicultural aspects of the city.

The Stampede is full of life and fun. The price point of the Stampede is a little steep. And line ups can be brutal, but if you like a western party it's totally worth it. There are rides for kids, teens and adults. Even some...More

So..... I don't really know what I was expecting coming into the Calgary Stampede. Being from Australia, what I can tell you is that it is a lot like the Brisbane Ekka or the Sydney Royal Easter Show, except more cowboy orientated and no showbags...More

What is the duration of the chuck wagon race? Is it also only in the afternoon, pictures look like an evening race.

They run every evening from 6 to 8 I do believe 😊👍
We're looking at buying the Chucks and Chaps package that comes with 'main level end' seats for both the afternoon and evening show. My question is will these seats provide an adequate view? Or are we better off to buy seating separately and chose a different section? Thanks.

Great question! The Chaps and Chucks Package is definitely the best bang for your buck, and the Main Level End seats are a great place to watch the Rodeo and Evening Show, however, if you want to get an even better view... More
