As a friend of some national team speedskaters, we use to shimmy up the columns and watch the sun set. If this sounds romantic and youthfully stupid, it was just that. Don't try it yourself. Go inside and enjoy the gyms or rinks instead. Great Olympic contribution.

I attend the World Speed Skating competitions, international and Canadian each year as a volunteer and stay for the races when my shift is done. You are so close to the activity you can hear the skates on the ice.

If you're visiting Calgary Canada in winter, this is a definite must do experience and one of my tops for the Calgary and Banff area. Make sure you see the Calgary Flames or an NHL game after to top off the experience. Other Canadian classics include ski, hot springs, snow shoe, sleigh ride and dog sled when visiting Canada in... I was up at the University of Calgary and decided to pop into the Olympic Oval. It's a truly beautiful building, inside and out. The main ice track is so huge, they have an ice hockey rink and short track speed skating track going on at the same time. They have open skating times and host a lot of special... More

We decided to be adventurous and see where the streets took us. We ended up here and its just so pretty but dont walk there at night. We saw a few questionable people here but they left us alone. Id love to come back during the morning hours and see it all.

It has been 14 years since the last time that I have gone for a skate at the Olympic Oval. The four of us throughly enjoyed a 2 hour skate on a Sunday afternoon. Because of the enormous track there was never a time when it seemed crowded. The $7.00 admission was very reasonable. I am not a big fan... More

The Olympic Oval wins points in my books due to free public access to a large walking/running track. (Too bad you have to pay for parking)

It was good to see the Winter Olympic Ski Jump, the Flags and the Olympic Torch. Plenty of photo opportunities on the podium and in a bob sleigh
