From the splendor of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Destination Africa, The Calgary Zoo takes you to see almost 900 animals from around the world. Trek through the gorilla’s rainforest, safari over the Savannah to watch the hippos swim, or climb the Canadian Wilds to see a grizzly bear. Cool off and get beak to nose with 4 species of penguins in our popular Penguin Plunge or visit endangered red pandas and amur tigers in Eurasia! Wind down your trip with a walk through our fragrant Dorothy Harvie Gardens or sit with the butterflies in ENMAX Conservatory. You'll love knowing that every visit helps protect endangered animals at home and in the wild. NEW in 2017 is the unique and immersive permanent Land of Lemurs exhibit. Coming in 2018 are the iconic giant pandas!

Its a nice zoo, not huge like Toronto but still there are lots of cuties that you'll love to spend sometime with. Summers or warm afternoons are best times to visit.

Although there are some attractions that are closed because of the winter season; there were plenty of other animals and places to see and do within the zoo.

I have visited a few zoos in my life and Calgary has a mid ranged zoo. The gorillas and penguins have a great exhibition but would love to see more Canadian animals. All in all it’s a good time with the family and friends but...More

A huge zoo, you really need a full day to see it. Legs are tired by the end. Lots of very interesting exhibits, the big cats draw the crowds, but there is so much more to see.

I had not visited the Calgary Zoo since the mid 1980’s. I really did not recognize the zoo at all! Everything had changed and in most cases for the better. I was sad to not be able to find the elephants but happy to learn...More

Hi Matthew- our zoo doesn't focus on marine life, so we don't care for squids here. However we do have a rainforest water habitat with many different species of cichlids. If you're looking forward to water based habitats, we... More
