Wonderful place. Very well set up between different sections of the military in Canada. Definitely a place to visit and be educated on the accomplishments of Canadian Forces.

Excellent Museum

I have been to many military museums and displays in the US and Canada. This particular museum rates right up there with the best. It is very spacious and we'll laid out. Due to Covid 19 restrictions some amenities and displays were restricted. The amount of information was overwhelming and a person could easily spend many hours in the museum. I was especially impressed with the naval displays. The two small hangars outside were wonderful and our tour guide in the hangars was an actual Starfighter pilot. The gift shop offered many items and prices were not too bad, hard to argue with the price of $15 for a t-shirt. The out door displays are good but there is room for more items in the future. I am going to return because my 3 hour stay was just not long enough to take in all that this museum has to offer.

Everyone should see this place

They have great exibits of the different armed forces. A lot of great history to make us proud of our military's heritage. It is sobering to think about how our armed services members have defended out rights and freedoms throughout Canada's history!

Great for fans of History and the Military Alike

One of if not the best military museums in Canada, especially given that it is a tri-service museum with wonderful displays of not only four army regiments, but also the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force. Where else can you see a Sabre, Starfighter and Hornet literally side by side? The Cold War Exhibit at The Military Museums has it! The Naval gallery is equally impressive with numerous examples of naval artillery, and air craft along with many compelling models of the storied ships of the RCN. Now wrap that up with the PPCLI, Strathconas, Calgary Highlanders and the Kings Own Calgary Regiment museums and you have an amazing experience in the making. Add in the University of Calgary's Founder's Gallery and there is something to pique anyone's interest.

Educational and Informative.

Great for people of all ages to appreciate just how fortunate we are and those who sacrificed so much to protect the life we enjoy today! Lots of showcases of active weapons but mostly historic. Entertaining and Informative in a relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend anyone taking the opportunity to review.

Both World Wars should be MANDATORY TEACHING in EVERY SCHOOL. NO EXCEPTIONS! We must never forget all of those young ones that gave their lives so we may live. Don't let the Crooked Politicians and Bankers spit on their sacrifices.

Very interesting

We arrived into Calgary during the cold snap and wanted to do something indoors where we could learn a little about the local culture, which is when our hosts suggested the military museum. Our welcome volunteer was lovely and explained the museum to us. The museum is very vast covering army, navy and airforce. We ended out spending 3 hours at the museum and I don't think we even covered half of it properly! There is a picnic area onsite and no other facility for food, so we were glad we had a packed lunch. Don't miss out on the aircraft hanger if it is open when you visit. The volunteer in there was fantastic, with lots of knowledge about the planes and was even kind enough to let my mum sit in one. All in all, we found this to be excellent value for money and a great way to spend a few hours.
