Calgary Military Museums:
It was a great museum. Detailed and interesting displays and artifacts. A good review of Canada’s Armed Forces from land, sea and air. The staff were really helpful and answered all of our inquiries and questions. Many of them were experienced veterans with their added knowledge and wisdom.
There are many things to see and I wish I had more time there. You need about half a day or more to cover all of the exhibits.

The Air Force Cold War Museum was very interesting with world class presentation. Especially good for boomer age people who lived through the Cold War. The building was so plain compared to the main museum I was not expecting much. It turned out that the building is a replica of structures used during the Cold War. So do not be fooled by the exterior.
Our docent Ray was so well informed and has a knack for explanations.

Very informative and educational about the Canadian military. Lots of different room about the Navy, army and Air Force. However our favourite section was the hangers with the very kind and very attentive Stuart! If you’re ever planning to go here I hope you bump into Stuart to have a lovely conversation about combat in the air. He had such a vast knowledge about the Air Force and was very personable. He made myself and my partner want to keep learning which is rare for us!!

I visited the museum with my husband. It was a great experience even I was just accompanying him. It's truly a world class museum. We spent around 3 hours and couple days later, my husband went back there by himself for half day.

Having lived in Calgary my whole life, I should have visited the Calgary Military Museum much sooner. It is absolutely fantastic! This should be on any list of top five things to do in Calgary. We spent a good hour outside in the hangar dedicated to the Cold War and were treated to stories by a volunteer who was a fighter pilot. We didn't leave ourselves enough time to fully visit the incredible displays inside - a number of which are full life-size re-enactments of various war scenes. We missed four full rooms and will need to go back as there is so much packed in to this very large museum (I had no idea it was this big looking at it from Crowchild Trail).
If you have not been here, I whole-heartedly recommend putting it on your list. As Canadians, we don't pride ourselves enough in the efforts we have made to keep our nation safe. If this museum was located anywhere in the US, it would be teeming with people as it is one of the best I've been to.

I have been to many military museums and displays in the US and Canada. This particular museum rates right up there with the best. It is very spacious and we'll laid out. Due to Covid 19 restrictions some amenities and displays were restricted. The amount of information was overwhelming and a person could easily spend many hours in the museum. I was especially impressed with the naval displays. The two small hangars outside were wonderful and our tour guide in the hangars was an actual Starfighter pilot. The gift shop offered many items and prices were not too bad, hard to argue with the price of $15 for a t-shirt. The out door displays are good but there is room for more items in the future. I am going to return because my 3 hour stay was just not long enough to take in all that this museum has to offer.

They have great exibits of the different armed forces. A lot of great history to make us proud of our military's heritage. It is sobering to think about how our armed services members have defended out rights and freedoms throughout Canada's history!
