My husband, myself and our16 yr old grandson did the Badlands tour and the Banff Nat park tour. Both were excellent. Petar was knowledgeable, friendly and lots of fun. He went out of his way to make sure we saw everything we could in our short time frame. The grandson doesn't say much but he did say the trip was "impressive". Would highly recommend using Hammerhead and we would use Petar again and recommend to friends.

We had a private Drumheller Badlands tour with Petar and it was excellent. It was our child's dream to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum and Petar ensured that we had the right amount of time to visit the museum. Petar was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited on our tour and the guidebooks he had on hand about birds/animals of Alberta came in handy along our journey. Petar is a very good driver and the vehicle we travelled in was very clean. The pick-up and drop-off was very convenient (at our downtown Calgary hotel) and the tour progressed exactly as we expected, with the flexibility we needed to add a bit more time at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. We enjoyed all the places we visited in and around Drumheller. We travelled when there was a fair bit of smoke in the air from the Alberta wildfires but the views still wowed us. We would love to return to the area in a few years to see all the spectacular views in clearer weather. Our whole family highly recommends the Drumheller Badlands tour and we're sure that any tour with Petar as guide would be incredible! We thought our tour offered great value for the high quality and personalized experience we received.

Banff Lake Louise tour late May before the big rush. We were touring with friends from Scotland and wanted them to see the best of the Rockies. The views were amazing. Enjoyed our trip immensely especially being driven around, rather then being the driver. Our host/driver Petar was very hospitable, knowledgeable and friendly. Picked up and return from hotel, many pit stops to take pictures of scenery and wildlife. One of the passengers could not walk a great distance without assistance and Petar found a parking spot that was close to the location we were going.
Vehicle was comfortable and clean.
I highly recommend Hammerhead Scenic Tours and especially Lake Louise/Banff tour

We did the one-day Rocky Mountains and Badlands tours and enjoyed them both immensely. While some of the attractions around Drumheller were closed for the season, the stunning winter landscapes more than made up for it, and seeing the sun coming up while standing on the frozen Ghost Lake on the way to Banff was a highlight of our holiday. Petar is an excellent guide - he was super friendly and knowledgeable and the small group format meant he could go out of his way to make sure we got the most from our days.

I booked the Drumheller Badlands tour, with Royal Tyrrell Museum as main attraction (Dinosaurs of course). Little did I know that that locations we would see in addition to the museum would be so mesmerizing. The landscape of Alberta Prairies, Canyons, rugged valleys, rivers and Badlands is in stark contrast to the lush green hills of Banff or Jasper, and there in lies another beauty of nature that absolutely must be seen by everyone visiting Alberta.
This was the last tour of our month long vacation in Canada and we loved every bit of it. The long drive from our hotel in Calgary downtown through the Prairies (reminded me of Sting's song 'Fields of Gold') to the Canyons, the elevated view points of the valley and canyons, the rolling fields, the museum, the hoodoos, the eleven bridges and its stories, it was a day very well spent and will fondly remember every time we look back at the hundreds of photos of the tour.
And no one really does this tour better than Petar Opacak of the Calgary Tour Company-Hammerhead Scenic Tours. He may have done this tour hundreds of times but we could sense his enthusiasm and joy of story/ fact telling and photography as we went from one spot to another. He was indeed very kind and readily stopped at many places to let us take photographs.

It was like travelling with a good friend who is taking and showing you the best spots around Banff. My wife and I took the one-day tour around Banff and Lake Louise.
So first of all, he responded quickly on our emails and accommodated our questions and concerns professionally. We felt that he was trustworthy.
Initially, we tried to look for other companies with the same tour package because we had a conflict on our preferred date, for the reason that no one else would book the trip on the same day with us, due to Covid-19. Normally, the minimum number of passengers should be at least 3. So we were really upset about it.
But, Hammerhead was the only one that we found the best fit to our liking. We also read a lot of positive feedbacks about the tour and Petar, so we really wanted to make a deal with him so bad that we were even willing to book a private tour.
We ended up sealing a private tour deal, but at the last minute, we were fortunate to share the trip with another guest, who was also a good fellow. Of course, we got a refund of the initial private tour price, and the tour was modified to a regular one.
We enjoyed the trip so much and we really felt his sincerity and love for his job. Petar was very amiable and had a very warm and pleasant personality. He took his time and we didn’t feel like he was rushing us. He even took pictures of us and took us to extra spots that weren’t part of the tour package. Also, we had the pleasure of getting picked-up and dropped off from and to our hotel. It was a relief knowing that we didn’t have to take the extra time and effort to go somewhere else. It was really convenient.
The beautiful sceneries were all breathtaking. We have lots of great pictures and wonderful memories to take with us on our way back home. Lake Moraine was our favorite. If you take the tour, you’ll know why. 😊
So, if you want a memorable and convenient trip we highly suggest that you choose Hammerhead by Petar. You surely won’t regret it. In fact, we’re already planning our second tour with him. 😊

Our day trip with Petar was extremely enjoyable and informative. The drive was interesting with sights to stop and see along the way. The Royal Tyrrell Museum was quite amazing with so many fantastic fossils and dinosaur bones. The 11 historic bridges in 4 miles spanning the Rosebud River was an enjoyable drive, although sad to see the township of Wayne disappearing. Finished the day with a visit to the Hoodoos which were spectacular in the afternoon light. Altogether a great day!!

A much looked forward to excursion to the Badlands of Alberta was made possible with Petar's help. We were keen on visiting the Royal Tyrell Museum and the Dinosaur Provincial Park on the very last day of our holiday. He was thoroughly professional, organizing the itinerary to include both besides fitting in a few more sights in between. He picked us up at 6.45 am at the hotel and dropped us off at the airport at 8 pm at our request. He was very friendly, patient, and informative, responding to all our questions. I’m glad I picked Hammerhead Scenic Tours of all the websites that popped up on google. Thanks, Petar!!

My wife and myself did three private tours with Peter. We firstly did a half day Calgary City tour and then two day tours to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and the Drumheller Badlands tour. Peter gave us a fantastic experience. He could not have been more helpful and accommodating. He was always willing to stop and take photos. He was also very pleasant company to be with and gave us great insights into Alberta and Canada. We were delighted with our decision to use Peter and Hammerhead Tours during our time in the Calgary area of Alberta, Thank you Peter. Michael and Marie (Ireland)

Petar was very knowledgeable, thorough, organized, informative, and fun. The tour was relaxed and we saw everything we were supposed to see, plus an extra couple of beautiful, historic spots added in. After so many years, Petar still took photos with his own camera and was happy to take photos of us. His enthusiasm was inspiring.
The Royal Tyrrell museum is really well done and interactive for kids and adults alike.
Drumheller, the Hoodoos, Canyons and Badlands were a sight to see.
The Drumheller Badlands tour is highly recommended!

Hi,
My wife and I are planning a trip to Calgary next July 2018. We are wondering what the weather will be like and what we need to prepare/bring with.
Thank you!

Written December 19, 2017
Hello Linh,
The nice person above from Medford, New York already give you some idea what to prepare/bring with and very important is sunglasses and sunscreen. Weather in July is wormer then in September. It's dry, pretty stable and I would say in mid and high 20's (Celsius) and sometimes goes over 30's. The best is to follow Calgary weather forecast.
Hope you going to enjoy your time in Calgary.
All the best.

In general, how long are your tours? We will be staying at the International Hotel in Calgary and only have an afternoon. Are there any tours in the afternoons?
Written May 15, 2015
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in our service.
In general, our One Day Tours are between 9 and 11 hours long and start at 7:00 am
Calgary City is Half Day Tour and it's between 3 and 3.5 hours long and start at 8:30 am.
International Hotel is one of pick-up places in downtown of Calgary.
We are sorry to inform you, we have nothing to offer in the afternoon.
Calgary afternoon traffic (Rush Hour) is pretty bad, so nobody realy likes to be in bumper to bumper traffic.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind Regards and all the best
Petar
