We really enjoyed walking around this park. There were lots of families having picnics and barbeques. Nice walking paths along the river. The park was clean and felt safe.

Bowness Park is very clean and peaceful launchpoint to access the incredible and beautiful Bow River. Acquire hat, dinghy & life jacket, drop your boat off and leave ride outside park. Walk back in then peacefully float the afternoon away.

We were here on a weekday morning around 10 am, and this "park" is spectacular. There is something for everyone - a wading pool for the kids, boats on the water in which to cruise, a playground, plenty of trails for dog walking and running, benches for contemplation and a small cafe which is superb. The cafe stocks delicious snacks, baking, light lunches and assorted coffee, and, the server was extremely pleasant and professional. This is a fantastic spot for anyone wanting a day or just a morning or afternoon away. Photographers as well will enjoy this spot, and parking is plentiful.

I hadn't been to Bowness Park in a very long time and had forgotten how wonderful it is. The river, the lagoon, the food, the park, the paths all make it a wonderful experience. The area is big and open and makes it easy to enjoy without having people up close. The park seemingly can be used year round
We will be back soon.
Parking is a bit tight near the main entrance but we did find some.

This was recommended to me as I was in the neighbourhood. I was there early before the crowds and had a walk along the river. Able to keep socially distanced from others easily. Later in the day I walked passed the kiddies pool. THAT was not a safe place in this time of Covid. No social distancing in the line up. Did not get to the restaurant. And the train was not running.

This is a four season park where you can clear your mind, get some exercise, and enjoy a variety of activities. The trails are clear year round, the river is always changing, and the people are invariably friendly. It's one of the best places in the city to unwind.

Not all City Parks are the same during these terrible times. Many City parks have no washroom facilities open. But luckily, Bowness Park has a concessionaire who is keeping indoor washrooms open. Also, the people in some parks in the wealthier parts of Calgary (e.g. Glenmore Park) seem to be obvious of social distancing, but in Bowness Park on a recent visit, we found people quite respectful. The park is very spacious, and so it's easy to find a nice spot to be on your own.
