Booked a Discovery package snowboard lesson with my daughter. This is a nice place for beginners. We had a group rate, but actually got private lessons as we were the only people there. The 5 degree Fahrenheit temperature may have been an issue. The hills used for lessons are good. A small bunny hill with a conveyor belt and a medium hill with a conveyor belt worked well. After the first hour, we had lunch ($20 food credit came with our lessons). Food was typically pub type food. Adequate. The chairlift runs were adequate to gain speed and have a little fun. This is a good place to go if you are from out of town and want a little snow activity.

I have been skiing T Snow Valley park on and off for the last ten years. For senior with a ski pass you can ski as munch as you want for less than 80 dollars. I purchased a yearly pass last year 2016 to 2017. The hills are small and a good place to practice your skills . There are two chair lifts and small escalator for small children. A nice coffee shop upstairs after your exercise.

My family members and I (in part because we are 50+) visit Snow Valley in preparation for visits to the mountains. While runs are much shorter, they are quite similar to the pitch of green runs at Marmot. Plus for those who qualify for the senior rate (55+) it is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and rack up the exercise credits on the cheap. This year I had a problem in the rental area. It was quickly rectified. In fact the staff (special thanks to Paul) took an 'above and beyond' approach that was greatly appreciated! Thanks for another great ski season.

Be careful when you book ski lessons if you have never skiing. My daughter gave me as a Christmas gift one day lesson but, turns out I was the only one who did not know how to ski, and the instructor completely forget about me, he moved on with the rest of the group, even we paid for a "full day " classes. You need to clarify to people if you dont know how to skii, dont come to this place.

Hello Dama1802,
I am sorry your experience was a disappointing one. Our Snow School is designed to teach beginners so that they have the skills and confidence to ride any run on Snow Valley and progress to more challenging terrain at the mountain resorts. Communication is the key to success on the slopes when learning, especially for the first time skier or snowboarder. I would like to follow up, if I may. Please contact me directly through either my email tim@snowvalley.ca or by phone 780-809-2368.
Thank you,
Tim Dea, Snow Valley Ski Club

Beautiful location - the lodge hosted the wedding and the food was tremendous.
Surprisingly fresh, delicious and lots of variety at the buffet. Desserts were awesome - sticky toffee pudding would have me coming back just for that !!! Definitely impressed everyone at our table.
Thank You !!

Hi MattSchewe,
Thank you for the review. Yes, we're even a bit of a surprise to people who have lived here all their lives. We pride ourselves in giving guests the best experience and value - even in the summer with weddings and other functions at The Lodge.
Thank you again,
Tim Dea

It has a good special at times, but considering the convenience, it beats the drive to the mountains. It will challenge the beginner. Good instructors for lessons in my experience.

Hi Jamal,
Thank you for taking the time to review Snow Valley and we appreciate your honesty. There's no doubt our food is not cheap: $12 for a burger with fries and a 16oz pop. Our food is however well made and tastes good in my opinion. Our main goal is to get people up to ski and snowboard we're very glad you brought your kids to have some fun on the snow. If you wish to contact me, just call the main Snow Valley number and ask for Tim.
I hope you come back soon!

Went to Snow Valley this week with our sons school and joined in with some skiing. The system they have to bring kids in for rentals is a well oiled machine. Just wait until the kids need to pile in and return their equipment, that's even more impressive! I've been to the hill many times with our children for a school ski day and they've always been impressive. Our kids have enjoyed the lesson and have learned to ski here, just like I did for my first time on skis over 30 years ago.

We are a young family looking to get into Skiing. I paid $366 for my two kids to have a day’s worth of lessons and yet they would not honour the two for one coupon I brought so that I could ski (would have saved me only $30 but it made a difference to me!). The front desk staff were also rude, dismissive and entirely unhelpful. They even gave me the wrong info about where my kids would be brought at the end of the day, and clearly felt unconcerned that I had a positive experience. We didn’t know how to get equipment, where the lessons were etc but had to find everything ourselves. No one responded to my letter to the management detailing our experience. To be fair, the instructor was excellent and my kids had fun. We will definitely be investing in season’s passes for our family of four to ski next year (and likely for years to come) but not at Snow Valley.

Snow Valley is the worst ski experience I've ever had. Had to wait for 45 mins to get a lift ticket yesterday. Then after an hour when I was actually on the hill, they didn't have one of their two lifts open. It was operational but they didn't have enough staff to let people use it.
What a joke. I didn't wait in line to get a refund, I just left disappointed. When I emailed to complain they didn't offer a refund or a complimentary pass, just made excuses.

Thank you, again, for your honest review of our Opening Day. Safety is our number one priority. We take full responsibility for one of our four lifts not being open on time. I am sorry you did not receive satisfaction from an earlier email and saddened that you did not contact me directly over the phone.

Do they rent skis, poles, boots and helmets? And how much to get in, rent and lift tickets?
Written January 13, 2019
Hi Jason,
Yes we do. Renting equipment is $31, a helmet is $5 and a full day lift ticket is $39. Those are all adult prices for a full day. Complete pricing is available on our website.
Thanks for asking!
Tim
