Fairly centrally located, and right on Jasper Ave, this cathedral is very large Roman Catholic Church. The stained glass covers the many windows of the church.
There is a 'crying room' available for when the kids get restless (clear glass window still allows you to see the service.
A huge, wonderful sounding organ is in the upper balcony at the back.
Due to it's central location, free parking is extremely limited, especially during the weekday or Saturday. Sunday's there is free street parking.
A full basement is available for various events and meetings also.
Full time security patrols the church.

Gorgeous church in the heart of Edmonton where you can go sit, reflect and take in the ambiance. Beautiful stained glass adorn the basilica and the scent of incense is always prevalent and welcoming, this is my church used to go there when I lived in Edmonton and still love popping in when I'm in town just to find my bearings.. Also if you are hungry afterwards there is nothing like a trip next door to "Sicilian Pasta Kitchen" with the best pasta in town without a doubt. Love the lasagna bar none!

It isn't very old by European standards, but hey, Wayne Gretzky got married to Janet here.
Worth a drive by.

I love to visit older churches around downtown wherever I go. This church has beautiful stained glasses and make you feel like at home.

When I lived downtown it was my place of peace and comfort. A recharge to my soul, and a true home of genuine happiness.

St Joseph's basilica is were the archbishop preaches in Edmonton. While homelies from Archbishop Smith are always opening your heart and your eyes with a knowledgeable point of view, the acoustic at the basilica is pretty bad. Not the best place to experience songs and music. Masses every day and 4 times on Sunday.

Welcoming Catholic Church & staff. Differently-abled individuals who are keen to do so are given opportunities to volunteer & contribute to the community with support from their staff at a non-profit organization. Parking at its designated car park is free. You can also offer Holy Masses, e.g. special intention, thanksgiving, etc. at its Administration Office but they are open to the public only at certain times of the day.

If you are visiting in the city and need to go to mass then I highly suggest this Basilica. The priests and choir are fantastic. The architecture of the building is phenomenal.

St. Joseph's Basilica is hands down one of the most beautiful churches in the country let alone the city. It's architecture alone will draw you in and the decor both inside and out is awe-striking.
