The Southwest Edmonton Farmers' Market is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization committed to creating a community gathering place for the residents of southwest Edmonton. It connects local farmers, producers and artisans who provide fresh, locally grown and made food and hand-made goods with the people of our surrounding communities, fostering relationships that create a greater sense of community and a stronger local economy. It is a vibrant, outdoor, family-friendly market that runs seasonally on Wednesdays, from 4:00-7:30pm, from mid May until Thanksgiving in the parking lot of the Terwillegar Rec Centre. It is an outdoor, rain or shine market full of high quality food and artisan items, food trucks, musical and entertainment buskers, a large inflatable slide for the kids, free children's crafts, balloon artists and face painters, making it a terrific, family-friendly destination.

It is a relatively small market so Moms with smaller kids should be Ok. Good fruit and veggie stalls, some good ethnic food stands, a great bakery stand with polish bread, yummy. Also fast Food Stands, ice cream and soda pop. Pleasant vendors, all-around, a...More

Surprisingly, this outdoor market does not allow visitors/shoppers to walk through with a leashed, well-mannered dog. Was met almost immediately on entry by someone from the market letting me know dogs were not permitted, even though I just wanted to walk through and was nowhere...More

It is not as big as downtown or Old Strathcona but it will add great food to your table. It is easy to get to and since I do groceries on Saturday, fresh new food on Wednesday is perfect.

Held in the parking lot of Terwilleger rec centre, this farmers market is smaller compared to some of the other weekend markets. However, it is nice to have a local mid week option if you happen to run out of fresh fruits or dips mid...More

This was so much fun. Music. crowds and lots to try and buy. Love seeing people out on a Saturday and would definitely come again.

Thanks for visiting our market. Your review touches on something that is quite common at farmers' markets across the province: produce, artisan goods and food often ARE more expensive than similar items purchased at big box, high volume stores. Small businesses and local producers often...More

Thanks for taking the time to write a response and we're so glad you enjoy farmers' markets in Edmonton. There are a number of Saturday markets in the Edmonton area, like Old Strathcona, the Downtown market, the St. Albert Market and smaller ones like the...More

It's a good market, but rather small (a good thing and bad thing I guess). The atmosphere is pleasant and the vendors are lovely. Not too crowded either. I would come here if I was passing by or if I were "in the neighborhood". I...More

Thanks for your review. We really appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to write about your experience at our community market. Fall, week-day markets are typically smaller. You should see it on a hot summer's day!
