It's a real beautiful view of the river and is a "no trespassing" area. It is too bad some people are using it as a garbage dump, we even caught two girls ripping papers out of a notebook and just throwing them around. I advised them they had better be picking them up, they said they would and for the most part they did (some they couldn't reach), but I bet if I hadn't said anything they wouldn't have. It's too bad people have such little respect for nature.

This was a fun outing. We followed our GPS to get there. This attraction is in a lovely neighborhood. At first we were heading inside the park, but then we encountered a lot of mud. We decided to go the other way. That was a good decision, as we saw “The End of the World” in all its splendor. The river kept on going.
In my head I could visualize that this would be the end of the world, figuratively. We kept on walking and enjoyed the view.

Since Keillor Road eroded away into the valley, this retaining wall has been one of the few places you can get a commanding view of the North Saskatchewan River Valley. While fairly easy to access, it is a little dangerous and signs are installed to discourage people from climbing on it. That does not work, so the city will be looking at how they can make it safer.

I am writing a new review as it has been a few years since last coming here. The City has built a new platform and railings, which make this spot totally safe and accessible to get a great view of the river valley. Check it out. Years ago it was not advisable to go but now it is encouraged and easy to find.

After a long day of activities, you can go to this place which is also called "Keillor Point" to pursue relaxation and enjoy observing sunset. The view is just beautiful. The river is like a mirror and you can see the clouds and the sky reflected on it.

Gorgeous view at sunset. Big sky and the valley below. Not too many people.
After the sun set, we walked the neighborhood and the moon and stars were out. We did not stay to see if the northern lights would come out but it would be an amazing place to view them.
The roadside path would be fine at night but the woods would have been very dark.
Coyote activity was noted in the area and there was signage about how to coexist safely with the local wildlife.

this area is where the former Keillor road slumped into the river valley.
While "scenic" it has also attracted a rougher crowd, and individuals who use the spot to try and fill the valley with garbage...couches, tv,s and hot water heaters are some of the things we have pulled out.
Thus today if you go you are liable for a 100 to 287.00 fine.
It is a no tolerance area and edmonton peace officers will be monitoring the area.
Future plans are for a walkway and stairway into the area to create an atmosphere for all
For now please stay way

By no means advertised or promoted, this lookout point is a hidden gem that Edmontonians like to visit - at least once.
There is a no trespassing sign, so visit at your own risk; however, the impression I got was it was put in place to discourage bush parties and late night gathering. There is no neatly beaten down path, and the journey to it is mildly challenging. And there's no rail or protection off the edge, so you may want to be careful and stay back.
All that said, the views are incredible and it was an awesome place to see.
Currently there is a survey being done with some interest from the City of Edmonton to make it an official and recognized attraction... which would surely result in safer paths, fences, and rails, making it safer and more accessible.

Excellent view of the river valley. Hidden little gem. Security may come by if a lot of people are there and clear everyone out because apparently it's trespassing. Psssh. Whatever.

So, I've been here a couple times and it's usually busy with people doing unsavory things. Lovely view of the river valley but you can get that elsewhere.
