About
Nitehawk Year-round Adventure Park is run as a non-profit and has been a part of the Grande Prairie Region since 1960; run by hard working Staff & Management and supported by a Governing Board of Directors & dedicated team of Volunteers. Over the years Nitehawk has grown from a quaint ski hill to a multipurpose recreational area and facility. It employs a number of full time and part time seasonal & year-round staff, and provides recreation, exercise and outdoor, fresh-air fun for thousands of people year round. Nitehawk is home to Skiing, Snowboarding, Winter Tubing, Lesson Programs, Year-round RV-ing, DH Mountain Biking, Hiking, Summer Camps, Summer Tubing, and most recently the Snowmaker's Family Lounge that's OPEN 7 days a week. There's no shortage of things to do at Nitehawk, and it's all just 10 minutes South of Grande Prairie, Alberta. We look forward to seeing you and your family soon!

I grew up in Grovedale and I have enjoyed skiing at Nitehawk for many years. Recently, I was given the fantastic opportunity to work there and what I learned is that the Nitehawk staff members are a family who work together to give the customers the best experience that they can. They take their jobs seriously and they care about the customers, each other and the business. I enjoyed my time working there and I wish them all the best!

Sure Nitehawk may be small and in a region thats about as flat as a pancake, but that also gives it its broad appeal..
For one, you get a lot of locals who come year after year giving it a more family friendly vibe.
Another benefit is that you don't have to brave all sorts of dangerous mountain passes in your vehicle to get there. Its in the slopes of a valley/gully/gorge (thats the best description i could come up with). So it has the odd distinction of being a ski resort you drive "down" to...
The prices are quite reasonable and you don't get the influx of hooligans from the opposing hemisphere creating a ruckus like in other ski resorts farther south.
Negatives are the very short daylight hours (though theres plenty of lighting), but then again there can be decent skiing conditions well into April when daylight hours are approaching summer maximums.
It can also get much, much too cold for southerners to go skiing.. No one wants to go flying down a hill when the air temperature is below -40C/F and likely to turn exposed skin to ice in mere seconds, and those days occur much more frequently here than they do at resorts more on the BC side.

Probably one of the most poorly managed camp grounds, sites are over grown, uneven, picnic table roughted out, road is terrible most of the time. Many of the year rounds are unmaintained junk in the lots some look like they belong in the hills.of Arkansas
Water continually off due to I believe maintenanace again. This place need $ put into it upgrades and management that maybe checks on things once in awhile.

Nitehawk's not going to wow you. If you can ski or ride half decent it's a 60 second ride to the bottom. There's one chairlift, and one t-bar. And there is a pretty good terrain park with more boxes/rails than I'd expect for a hill this size, and a couple small jumps, and medium jumps too.
My favourite part of Nitehawk is the t-bar runs parallel to the terrain park so you don't have to ride out a green groomer for 10 minutes and get on a long chair just to reset. You can hit the park a ton of times in a day. It's a hill to learn on, but you'll soon be wanting more challenge and variety. Then the 4 hour drive comes into play. The hill is about 10 minutes from Grande prairie. Go Friday night skiing for only $15

Not bad. The campground is a fairly new addition to Nitehawk and a number of the sites reflect this fact. This is the only campground in the Grande Prairie area that you can call and reserve ahead of time. The main problem with this campgroud is the fact that it is always jam-packed with locals on the long weekends as there are not enough campgrounds in the area to accommodate the number of campers.

Kids really love this place. Close to town and great for the kids to learn on. No mountains close, this will do in the mean tine. At least they have chair lifts, not t bars.

Got out and enjoyed the fresh powder last night! Finished the evening in the Chalet with dinner. If you’ve never eaten at Nitehawk you should. The food is fantastic! We all had a burger it is was amazing. Service was good and they have open Mic 🎤 every Friday with some great talent!
