Crystal Lake used ti have a lot of different birds, but now the birds are avoiding Crystal Lake. Perhaps due to the very heavy algae bloom in the summer,

I was expecting a lake but it is a swamp (and it smells like it too!). You can walk around it without seeing a lot of that swamp. Its a great place to walk the dog or you can go on the observation spot where you will be able to see the swamp very well. but there is really nothing... More

Looking for some peace and quiet? The trails around the lake are great. Some sections of the trails are in a more natural settings, others go through residential areas. It would take about 45 minutes to do an entire loop around the lake. There could birds - geese, swans, ducks and smaller birds - to be seen on the water.

I enjoy walking around the whole lake (approx 1 hours with moderate speed). Bring a friend or walk alone, its up to you. There are benches placed near the path facing the lake to enjoy the view. Its a great path to go walk with your pets or with a stroller. Car access to the park area, with parking available... More

The lane swim is aweful. If your gonna swim, make sure you shower after. Duck lice and scurvy. Make sure your shots are up to date.

I had a nice leisurely walk on part of the pathway that goes around the lake. Lots of birds to see and very peaceful away from the city noises. The city streets in this area are in good condition as the area is still new. The streets in the city core and some of the older areas, as well as... More

Nice area to see the birds. Paths to walk around the whole lake. We got a bit turned around in the housing area but enjoyed exploring on the walk.

Love to walk around Crystal Lake and look over the water at the dock. Where the view of the water fowl is amazing. the park is clean except for the few low lifes who have thrown their garbage into the lake! The paths are nice and well kept. Well mowed grass and doggy bag dispensers full and in areas that... More

I love the walking path around the lake, and the pier where I can watch thousands of geese and the swans. It is a lovely wild area. I wish young people would not through stuff in the water, but I do love the peacefulness of this park.

Real Estate in the Crystal lake area (NE corner of Grande Prairie) is well known as an excellent area for excersize, small socail events and general outdoor activities. In winter the lake surface is used extensively for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.Several different subdivisions surround the lake and there is a good network of approx. 7-9kms of paved walking trails...
