About
Jasper SkyTram is the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in Canada. Gain a unique perspective on the majesty of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jasper National Park. Soar above the park’s sub-alpine vegetation, watching for wildlife below, as you gently climb towards the upper station located at 2,263 metres (7,425 feet) above sea level. Stroll along the accessible, interpretive boardwalk or try hiking the 1.4 km trail to the summit of Whistlers Mountain at 2,463 metres (8,081 feet). This family-friendly ride on the Jasper SkyTram is the perfect experience for guests of all ages. Make sure to stop at the top of the Canadian Rockies to visit the gift shop at the upper station for a souvenir to take home. From late March to early May, you can rent snowshoes at the top for a truly Canadian experience.

Even though we purchased tickets online, selecting our times for flights up and back, to avoid standing in line at the event, When we arrived, we were told the QR machine was not working and we had to stand in line anyway to pick up tickets, almost missing our time slot. Then, during our return on the gondola, twice the amount of people that were in our flight up, were crammed into the sky tram gondola. It was so crowded we could hardly breathe. The staff told us they were doing a safety check and one gondola was out of commission so both groups of people went in our gondola. Not only was it uncomfortable, it was also worrisome and four days later, I tested positive for COVID 19. We were left with the opinion that this attraction was disorganized, inefficient, and taking chances. We would never have traveled in a gondola that was so packed with people, had we been told before we were at the top of the mountain.

Who knew? Definitely be sure to get online reservations if you can or there is the risk that you might have a wait or even be disappointed - fortunately we only had to wait for about 60 minutes. Once boarded, the ride was smooth and definitely worth the money to skip the horrible climb up the mountain.

The tram provides a wonderful view of Jasper and the surrounding area. We were able to walk up and purchase a ticket without a reservation. A 5-minute wait and we were on our way to the top. We had a beautiful clear day and could see for FOREVER! For those who wish to hike, there are paths to explore in the Alpine terrain here at Whistlers peak. You will find patches of snow throughout the area even at the end of June. Be sure to dress in layers. It is quite windy and chilly at the top. Inside the tram station is the Summit Restaurant. The menu offers a variety of comfort foods or you can gaze at the magnificent view while enjoying your favorite adult beverage. A very relaxing way to wind down from a busy day of hiking. Note: See you can spot Mt Robson 60 miles away!

This was a great way to spend the morning. If possible, go before 10am and you get a discounted price. The views were great and you could spot all the lakes nearby as well as all the mountains. At the top, go on up and do the Whistler Mountain hike which takes you right to the top. Be prepared for cold weather so I was glad I had my jumper and jacket with me. It is steep going up to the mountain and very high so take your time!!

The trip is quite expensive, that is not the problem. The view from the top is great.

You have to book timeslots for going up and for going down. Going up works quite well and you are advised, not to miss your „return-flight“.
We came back to the upper station in time but had to wait more than two hours to travel back down.
Would’ve been better not to give time slots but do it on a first come first serve base.
The staff tried their best but wasn‘t able to handle the chaos properly.

We took our 10 kids and grandkids on the tram, even those who are afraid of heights, and everyone loved it! The views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, lakes and Jasper townsite are incredible! Some of our group hiked to the summit and got even better views. A few of us were content to stay back and explore all the rock formations and plants to be found in this alpine area. It is a little pricey but well worth the cost. Some reviews I had read said to save your money and just hike some trails to get similar views. But you would have to be a pretty serious hiker to climb that high and get those views!

Recently did this activity. Very well worth it! Prices are a bit high but its very well worth it. I highly recommend you buying your tickets in advance on their website. There is also the option of buying their early bird which you save almost $20 for two people. Views up the mountain was fabulous!

The booking and entry into the tram is very efficient, and the views from the top are spectacular (especially if you hike to the summit). Unfortunately, our tram operator (12:39 pm departure on Wednesday July 6th) was a bored Australian who didn't proactively provide us with any information as we went up. There is a lot to see and we paid a good amount of money for tickets, so I would have assumed the tram operator would have filled the 7.5 minutes with interesting information about what can be seen from the tram.

The views from the top are stunning and the hike was a great workout. The tram itself was crowded and made it hard to enjoy the ride.
