    a must do in Jasper
we loved this excursion. Paid 54 canadian each and got a CAA discount on arrival otherwise this was booked on line. There was always lots of spots in September which was busy cause people cant travel anywhere else. we attempted to hike up the mountain as well but i started feeling altitude sick so had to come down. It was a warm clear day but dress for cool and warm cause sudden changes in temp occur one minute we needed a scarf and coat next only a tank top. Bring water and good shoes to hike up the steep climb. lots of photo ops but people were getting too close to the edge which was scary for me. The restauant is nice place to relax and enjoy the view and there is a gift shop. the menu looked good but i did not eat only a beer. the ride up and down was smooth and not too crowded as limits set due to covid. Friendly staff and informative ride. there is a bar and food at the ticket place too. Book online is my advise especially in busy season

    Beautiful experience
Sat on top of a mountain for my birthday 🎂. Clear blue skies allowed for absolutely epic views. The Skytram staff followed all Covid 19 precautions perfectly as did all riders and their small children! Anyone who passes through Jasper should do this. You can passively ride to the top and enjoy the view or you can do the hike to the top. The 30 minute hike is worth it. The Marmots will be there to cheer you on with their squeaky voices.

    Fabulous view of Jasper
Would advise purchasing your tickets in advance (going up and down) and not going too late as the hike to the summit could take you longer than planned. The difficult 2 km hike to the summit can be quite challenging in areas. We were told 45 mins there and back and I would say for someone in very good shape. Some of the side trails are not as difficult or steep and provide a good view of the town.

The tram runs regularly through the day. The trip to the top provides some spectacular views of Jasper. We did the walk to the summit which provided some more spectacular views at the top and a nice walk to add to the trip

The views of Jasper from the top are awesome but the facilities both at the bottom and the top feel tired. There is plenty of free parking but the customer service desk wasn't open at 11am to complete the redemption of the visit and to book the return time. I would recommend you do this online and in advance. We spent two hours at the top. I didn't complete the hike to the summit...too steep for me but many others did complete it with great views.
The journey time is five minutes and the carriages were packed with c.20 people. The conductors gave an informative talk about the equipment, the views and the facilities.
Overall it is worth doing but compared to some of the other gondolas, it feels tired.

Rode the tram to the top to see the area from elevation. Clear sunny sky and great view. Online ticket and tram was running on time and was not over crowded. Was worthwhile.

The skytram itself is oddly organized for reasons unknown to me due to the scheduling. However the summit and views are next to none. I found it more incredible than Banff Gondola views and the hiking up here is amazing! We spent a good 3 hrs here hiking and then a lunch at the cafe.

A must visit while in Jasper on a nice day. The sky was perfect.

Well well…I took this ride with a group of friends (a religious group, and it showed). Pre-boarding went smoothly, the ride up was informative, cheerfully, and calming (we had two young people as our conductors 👌🏼and personally, I loved this experience! their input and energy was lovely).
But unfortunately on the top, when part of my crew was making their way into the building, we encountered this female Jasper Skytramp worker *short brown hair, maybe 5’4-5, around the age of 40* that began shouting at us from a distance for a very minor inconvenience - something they didn’t/forgot to inform us about. She was extremely disrespectful, no volume control, and belittled our crew. And very unfortunately when the second half of our crew came to join us, they sadly experienced the exact same thing, although with their crew a younger male worker noticed how rude she was and came over to say sorry. It’s disappointing to publicly say, but I haven’t met anyone in my entire life as rude as that female! She could’ve kindly explained to us that what we were doing isn’t allowed, but rather she chose to put a huge damper on our experience.
The trip down with our two young conductors was once again sweet and calming (although you kinda feel like a sardine). In conclusion, I’ll never go to Jasper Skytramp again - I’d rather go to Banff Gondola, and I suggest you do too.

To reach the SkyTram's lower terminal, you drive a couple of miles south from Jasper townsite and turn off onto a side road that leads up to the parking area. The lot can fill up so you may end up parking on the road's shoulder. I think you can reserve tickets online, but we just did walk-up (as we were not sure when we'd arrive on our first day after the 4-hour drive). When we got there (a bit before 2 p.m. on a Sunday), they were selling tickets for a tram just before 4 p.m. They also want you to book a rough return time. We opted for 2 hours. We then drove back to Jasper to explore the town for an hour before returning to wait at the terminal. If you can, you should schedule your ticket in advance to avoid a long wait.

This area also has a café of some sort (outdoor seating), a gift shop, and the ticket office. There are also restrooms here.

The trams run every 7 - 8 minutes (there are 2 operating in tandem). They call your time slot and you queue up awaiting the tram. It soon arrives and your group is herded in. Then you have a 7-minute ride to the top.

There is a similar terminal at the top, but with a sit-down restaurant also. The main attraction here is hiking. You are above the tree line, so the trails are all just dirt among barren ground and stones. You do notice the air being a bit thinner here also. If you have hiking poles, they will be helpful. It is a bit desolate (other than all your fellow hikers) but still pretty in its own way. If you aren't interested in hiking up to the nearby summit, then you may want to question whether the tram rides and strolling a bit are worth the ~ $60 CDN price (per person).

When you want to return, you can either wait for your agreed slot or inquire with the staff whether there are known extra spaces on earlier trams. We were lucky and got 2 spaces 25 minutes or so early, which was good. Also, it is colder at the top, especially if you are waiting in the shade. You may want to bring a light jacket (even in summer).

The visit here is definitely better on a really clear day. There was lingering smoke from wildfires earlier in the summer when we visited, which degraded the views of more distant mountains.

Racist cafe team. They refused to serve us because we have two Arab friends they served the one in front of us and the one behind us. I will never go again. And I’ll tell all my friends not to what a horrible way to treat visitors
