About
Stanley Thompson, Canada's master golf course architect, displayed some of the finest work of his career with this design. The 18-hole layout offers elevated tee boxes, dramatic bunkering and holes aligned with distant mountain vistas. He built wide fairways that carve through thick forest, and maintained a partnership with the environment's natural contours, blending beautiful landscapes with challenging terrain. As a result, few golf courses in the world can match the rugged majesty of this national treasure.

I walked in on Sunday and quickly got a booking as a single, and joined up with two other singles and had a very enjoyable round. It is a legendary course in Canada for a reason: the scenery cannot be beat, so many beautiful views of mountains, forest lakes, with wildlife transiting the course. The course itself was in excellent condition and the layout is great, with variety. Shortish par 5’s and longish par 3’s from the whites. It was a challenge for me but fun.

The fairways are decently wide and the rough fairly open. I did not lose a ball despite the 94 and only 6 fairways hit. The greens are fairly tricky and often crowned so a huge premium is awarded for sticking irons in the middle of greens. I will definitely play again when next in Jasper.

The setting for this course is breath taking but the course itself is in very poor shape, especially for August. I have played here for 30 years and this is the worst I have ever seen it.
Winterkill on greens and fairways and tee boxes. Lots of dead spots. The greens are furry and very bouncy. Not worth $200 a round this year

Over rated experience. They say it’s the best resort course and one of the top 10 in Canada. However they don’t tell you what state the course is in when booking. If they explained and offered a discount then fair enough but charging such a massive amount with no mention of the state of the course is criminal. I played with 3 members who apologised for the course and said Banff would have been a better choice.
I wouldn’t bother

Fairways had a lot of deadspots, alot of greens, dead, some with fungus growth. Had to bleach shoes after round so as not to transport disease. WAY OVERPRICED. Views nice but just a couple were special.

We always treat ourselves to this golf course once a year however I would wait to see if conditions improve. There is a lot of winter overkill and two of the greens are mostly sand. Very disappointing for the price you pay. Worst I have seen it in a long time

Golf Digest considers too many variables when they rate a course: pro shop, food, scenic views, etc. Unfortunately, I think the raters allowed the beautiful mountains to overly influence their ranking for this course. Yes, it's beautiful. But there are no jaw-dropping tee shots that make you go weak in the knees. It's just a nicely manicured, well designed, challenging golf course. Nothing wrong with that, but this course should not be ranked in the top 10 in Canada. In fact, compared the drama of the Icefields Highway from Banff to Jasper, even the mountains that surround the golf course are sort of ho hum.

A beautiful golf course. I am bias towards mountain courses - something awe-inspiring - both golf and personally! The course appears to have been designed to highlight the surround nature and if it is by accident, awesome! Spectacular views, elk munching on grass next to greens, well maintained. I will go again...and again...

Some outstanding staff!
Thank you to Delaney and Robby for organizing everything and a huge shout of appreciation to Glenn and Brian who really went above and beyond.
I hope management realizes what valuable assets you are and look forward to seeing you there next time I come through.

It's too bad my visit was cut short.

100 bux for 6 garbage local beers and a couple hot dogs. Premium location, you'd expect premium labels. Golf good.

My wife and I golfed twice in three days, this was our first visit. The course is beautiful and very playable for all skill levels. Service was great. Our complaints were with the number of people who knew nothing about golf etiquette, pace of play or the rules of golf. From people wearing soccer cleats, not fixing ball marks, grounding clubs in traps etc etc. In short all of these things made, what should have been a great experience, very much not enjoyable. I’m not sure what the solution is other than perhaps a brief spiel on basic rules, etiquette and pace of play prior to tee off.
