It is not every day you will get the opportunity to walk on a glacier! The only thing I did not like about this visit it was too short! I could've stayed over there way longer. But worth every cent anyway.

Been there a few times and each time I am amazed at the experience. Ice thousands of years old and 200 meters thick is not something one would find anywhere. I suggest purchasing the tickets to go on the snowbus that takes you to the middle of the glacier where you can get out, walk around, and drink the meltwater... More

Even though the tourist ice field trip wasn't available due to it not being open yet we stopped off and were able to see the ice field with a change in the colours where the ice was a little bit of sun came out so it looked even more spectacular. Parking available.

Its definitely worth a stop but the views will definitely be better in the summer. Right now there is still too much snow so you cannot see the ice very much. Still worth a stop if you are passing by but will be better in the summer for sure.

We stopped at the Athabasca Glacier on a Brewster.s coach trip Banff to Jasper with Brewster's food & trip to glacier experience booked.. I felt we missed out on its splendor by the sheer rushed processing of us through the queues for restaurant and the transport to the glacier. Just too many of us tourists. My daughter experienced the glacier... More

The wind was cold and hard but the beauty of everything made you not care. Everything is closed right now but you can still pull over in the parking lot and walk around and enjoy the scenery. We will be going back in the summer.

A snowy day, and all the facilities are closed at this time of year, but a good opportunity to stop en route from Jasper to Banff for some photographs at the toe of the glacier. Just off the main ice field parkway into the car park and a short trudge through thick snow to get some nice photographs.

We have driven on this highway a few times but the wonderful sights and vistas of Rocky mountains never cease to amaze. Long sections of the highway are marked as "Avalanche Country" or prone to avalanche induced closure in late winter and spring. AS it happened on our last trip, we set out from Jasper to go to Lake Louis... More

The Icefields are cold even on the warmest days, there is a fierce wind blowing down all the time. We took the tour snow cat on the ice fields and the glass floor walk. Make sure you use the bathroom before you start as there are no more until you get back. No emergency stops. The ice fields are shrinking... More
