We had the pleasure of having Jordan and Nick as our boat cruise/hosts for our cruise on October 2nd. Absolutely great individuals and highly recommend getting them for your tour. Fun atmosphere and very informative. The other staff we interacted with before boarding were also fantastic.
Weather was great and we enjoyed our cruise, plus walking around for 15 minutes by spirit island.
Only downside is, this cruise is not worth 80.00 for 1.5 hours. Since there is a monopoly on the lake, they're able to charge whatever they'd like.
Worth doing 1x and that's about it.

The iconic duo Dev & Seb took us for a hilarious and heartwarming adventure around the Spirit Island. The views were stunning, and we were fortunate to get a clear day to soak the beauty in. But the true icing on the cake was Dev's storytelling on the boat, with perfectly timed jokes and a heartwarming message about reconciliation with the Stoney people.

Gorgeous views and charming guides. The pursuit team impressed us again with their kind professionalism.
Spirit Island is moving and incredible to behold.
Boat was too crowded. At times the guide’s sarcastic jokes made it difficult to tell how much of the information he shared was true.

I have done a lot of tours in a lot of countries but Devon and Brooke we the best I have encountered. The were funny and informative. They spent time with everyone and really seemed to love what they do. The cruise is beautiful but it was them that made it memorable.

The boat cruise was fabulous for all the reasons people have mentioned, and the spectacular scenery speaks for itself, so this review is a shout out to tour guide Sebastián (and captain Jordan). Seb is an absolute gem - informative, engaging, personable, professional and the right kinda funny. A very impressive young man making the most of his summer job. Thanks for a memorable experience 😁

An amazing experience thanks to crew Liam and Mel. The beauty of the lake and spirit island are breathtaking. This all takes place surrounded by awe inspiring snow capped mountains! Truly a sight to behold. Dock facilities and the boat are all first class. Highly recommend this trip while visiting Jasper!

It was magical. Tour guide was great as well as boat captain. Our original cruise was cancelled, due to weather. We were contacted for rescheduling the next morning. It ended up working out for the best and the day was beautiful and the mountains were covered with snow. The lake is very green once you leave the shore.

We had a lovely time on the cruise! We did the Bald Hills walk in the morning and did this in the afternoon, which was a great combination. We were able to get some food at the café before the cruise. Cruise itself was excellent and our tour guide Tara was funny but educational and it was clear they cared about what they were doing, great time at Spirit Island and good to actually learn some of the history about it. Would definitely recommend!

Are we allowed to take any food on the boat tour?

Yes, I bought a snack and ate it on the boat.
We are going to take the classic tour (1.5 hours) in mid August. Can you please tell me whether the 1.5 hours includes getting off the boat at Spirit Island and taking photographs? Essentially, how long is the actual time on boat and how long do you get on land, once you reach Spirit Island.
We are debating whether the 2 hour cruise is worth it, or is it better to get the combo with the lunch at The View Restaurant, as this would allow us 2 hours for lunch.
Thank you

Yes it does include 15 minutes to get off boat & take pictures....the 2 hour probably has a longer time

Appreciate you have to wear a mask on the boat but can you remove your masks when on the shore?

Surely you can. As long as you follow the social distancing.

We are traveling and will be in Jasper end of August - should we book the boat tour ahead of time? Didn't know since it's peak tourist season if it's best to risk having bad weather and book it now. Also - AM better?

I would recommend booking in advance on their website. The 1.5 hr cruise is enough. I suggest you take the morning cruise to take advantage of the sun's position for better light effects on your shots. Also, be there early because it takes almost an hour drive from the main highway. Avoid any stops going there. You can take pictures of medicine lake and the canyon on your way back.

We are visiting maligne lake in August and planning to take the classic cruise. What is the best time of the day to go for the cruise?

Mid afternoon when it's a bit warmer. August mornings can be cool. In either case be prepared for weather changes. Dress in layers and have a jacket and hat.

Are there bathrooms on board?

There are washrooms near where the cruise departs from, and washrooms at Spirit Island. Longest time between washrooms is about 40 minutes
is this cruise worth going in late May? will we still be able to see blue lakes then?

The cruise is always worth doing! However, sometimes nature has other ideas. Some seasons the lake is free of ice by early to mid May, although this year it opened on June 1
