    Planetarium show
We ha d a very enjoyable tour with Sophie, who is studying astrophysics in Alberta. She was very engaging and enthusiastic about outer space, and we learned some things about Jasper's dark sky program. It was a surprisingly sophisticated program for a smaller facility. Would recommend to others.

    Fantastic star gazing
We had a fantastic experience with the Guide TYLER today!! He was very knowledgeable and gave a very informative presentation about the universe, constellations and stars and planets. He was so funny and had us all interacting with him and the whole group loved it! I highly recommend this very informative presentation. Tyler is a very intelligent and interesting person that is also very passionate about our Universe.

    Entertaining & Educational
This was an excellent planetarium experience, and a”must do” for adults and families visiting the Jasper area. When traveling, we often seek out planetarium experiences and this one covered material that we’ve never seen before. Sophie, our guide, was very knowledgeable and was kind enough to answer questions we had after the presentation. Next time, we’ll have to take advantage of the dark sky experience.

    5 stars for the Planetarium
We purchased tickets for the Planetarium show only, and we found it to be a wonderful and quite informative way to spend part of our afternoon . The Planetarium is small,;which genuinely makes a viewer feel connected to the skies above us. Special shout-out to Sophie; she presented a significant amount of information in a way that was lively, with just the right amount of detail. Additionally, Sophie invited questions from the audience, which was a fabulous way to wrap up the presentation. She patiently answered our questions in a friendly manner. Thank-you, Sophie, for a great presentation!

    fun & unique adventure
I went to the telescope experience at the Whistlers Campground and had a lot of fun. What a great way to learn more about our night sky - constellations, planets, galaxies, aurora borealis and more. I have been visiting Jasper for 40+ years and have done a lot in the park. But this is a terrific way to learn and experience even more! (It was particularly cool to see Saturn, rings and all, through the telescope.)

    Knowledgeable and passionate guide!
We went for the Planetarium Experience only and had some reservations after finding out that the dome was set up in the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and appeared “temporary”. However, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience and our guide Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We got to know about the Dark Sky Preserve and also had all our questions answered. A young and passionate astrophysicist, Tyler was able to answer our queries and provide recommendations on the best places to stargaze in Jasper. Though it was our last night near Jasper, we were so inspired from our conversation with Tyler that we decided to drive out to stargaze. Past midnight, we managed to see many stars, the Milky Way and even the Perseids meteor shower! Truly a memorable experience - thanks Tyler!

    Great guide, 11/10 stars.
I booked the planetarium only experience, and was not sure what to expect. However once I entered the dome, the visuals were inspiring, with great and educational commentary from our guide Tyler. Tyler's friendliness, knowledge and recommendations for star gazing made our experience 11/10.

Shout out to the excellent guide/host of the Dome Planetarium at Jasper.
We recently enjoyed the Dome Theatre Planetarium experience and were blown away. What absolutely made it was the enthusiastic presentation by Caitlin. She had a beautiful speaking voice that perfectly conveyed the excitement of the Cosmos. We were entranced.
Thank you so much for your 5-star review and kind words! We will for sure let Caitlin know you had a stellar time with her! -Everly, Head of Guest Services

A beautiful evening under Jasper skies
A very enjoyable experience with excellent guides Gabby, Nicole Caitlin and Devon. We were lucky to have a wonderful clear night with both visual and Electronically assisted views with large 20 inch Dobsonian telescope. Well worth the visit. . DRESS WARM, Even a warm day will get very cool into the night especially a clear one.
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are so happy to hear our tour guides made your visit extra special! Kind Regards, Everly Head of Guest Services

I liked how they split up the group so we weren’t all in a small room. The presentations that they each did was very informative. Since the night I went was cloudy, I liked knowing that I have 2 years to come back on a clear night at no cost.

Would 100 % recommend this as a must see on your trip to Jasper! I would recommend doing it early in the trip as the guides give really useful information about the town, where best to see the stars, aurora, wildlife. Our guides Garrett, Gerry and Shane were really enthusiastic and knowledgeable, happy to answer Qs.
We got to experience things actively, not just taking in passively. It was cool to learn about and use the telescopes and the planetarium was a great experience.
Would recommend going early as the Fairmont grounds are large and parking (for RV) is about a 7-10 min walk from the hotel reception, where tour counter is located.

We both enjoyed the planetarium show in Jasper. Venue is at the site of the Fairmount Lodge and the planetarium dome looked quite makeshift but once inside and sat down the show was well conceived, informative and entertaining. The show was also appropriate to local areas of interest. The 40 minutes show flew by

Despite it being one of the best nights to view the northern lights in the last 20 years, the experience at the planetarium was a enormous let down. It was super busy and the organised program was dropped after 10 minutes due to the northern lights (but thats not what we paid for). While the people working there appeared knowledgable and nice, the set up was not professional and appeared as something that can be set up in your own backyard with a few tents. It was certainly not worth the money and seemed to be more suitable for retired people (or people above 80 (as that is what the group mostedly consisted of)) or kids, rather than young adults. We left rather quickly to go watch the northern lights near a lake in the mountains (with less light polution) to take pictures with our phones, which was what better than our experienxe at the planetarium.

When we saw the small planetarium, we worried the presentation would not be as good as we had seen in larger, permanent structures. We were pleasantly surprised that the event was well done and met all our expectations. Comfortable seats and a knowledgeable speaker. The Telescope event did not take place due to extremely cloudy skies. They recovered beautifully by having Astro-Physics students give us presentations on Aurora Borealis, Meteors and Meteorites, and a view of their video telescope. And we have a rain check good for 2 years. Well done, Jasper Planetarium.

What an outstanding experience! Everyone who worked the venue was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We happen to luck out and had a phenomenal night with viewing the northern lights. The staff was super super helpful by telling us how to adjust our settings to capture the photos, would not have gotten these great shots without y’all. thanks again for a great experience with highly recommend to anyone staying in Jasper!

Planetarium tour.
Enjoyed it was interesting but the guide talked far too fast and we couldn't really pick up a lot of what he was saying . We were the last tour of the day so maybe he was tired. Was good show though

This was such a fun experience. We got to Fairmont Lodge early to wander thr grounds as they have stunning views from the lake. Lodge was classic style lodge and lovely inside.
The main even, however, the Planetarium and Telescope Tour was fantastic. The tour guides were so knowledgeable and friendly, they answered lots of questions. The Planetarium was a lovely show about the stars, and light pollution which was fascinating. They had additional tents with different scientific information about meteors and gases causing different colours in the skies. Looking at stars through the telescopes were really fun, got to see Venus, and The Big Dipper. We did, unfortunately, have some slouds blocking some of the stars but was still amazing.

Definitely wrap up warm as it can get cold at night in Jasper!

We had a fun and informative evening with the planetarium and telescope. Unfortunately the clouds meant we couldn’t see a lot but they did offer a free return visit when it isn’t cloudy! Staff were knowledgeable and gave interesting talks and information. Our 10 year old son loved it.
