Traveled 80km (50 miles) off of 97 to get to this historical gold mining replica town. Camped in one of the camps there and spent most of the day in Barkerville. After seeing the first ten or twelve building, you have pretty much seen it all. The names and buildings change, but the set up stays the same. This town... More

No doubt the most humbling experience ever as you step back in time👍treat yourself to an overnight stay and most likely you will sense how far we have come as a society❗️ Main Street with wooden walkways with amazing historical tour wait you in the mining town- take in the mercantile store for some savory sweets, awake early to get... What a great new attraction! We tubes for three hours. The magic carpet (human conveyor belt) was excellent to being you and your tube back up the hill. The design of the runs brings you and you tube mere feet away from the line up to go again. Can't say enough about the year round great staff at Barkerville! We... More

Nice place to visit, lots of history and the wagon ride was great. The wagon ride takes you through the village and the wagon is a stage coach. You can dine at the little bakery/cafe and they have little store for smaller souvenirs. The staff is great especially the ones in costume from the 1800's period.

We went to Barkerville on Friday Feb 3. We drove out to go tubing on the new hill up there. It was very fun! Tubes provided and there is a magic carpet conveyer that carries you back up to the top. It has two runs and they aren't very long but are fun. They have a fire going at the... More

We took a road trip to Barkerville via Wells during the summer. It is an original old mining town from the gold rush days with most buildings still in tact and in their original state. There is an original theatre in the center of town where actors still preform plays. It began to rain when we were there so we... More

Enjoyed our second trip back as empty-nesters and bought the whole package to enjoy two days. Gold panned, rode the stagecoach and experienced the shows. Loved the talks with the town's folk and was able to go back to school and feel EXACTLY how I felt back in the 1960's. All kids should experience that one!! Had great weather -... More

My partner and I spent a day and a half in Barkerville, staying on site in The George Hotel. We spent the first evening walking round after closing, which was quite eerie. The next day we spent walking around, did one of the walking tours, the Cornish waterwheel talk ( as we are from a mining area in Cornwall, England),... More

This place has been on my list for years to show my boys some BC history. We finally made it and loved it. Highly recommend staying in the town as it was such a great experience to live there for three days - boys 11 and 13 really loved it. We were off the grid, living in a part of... More

Worth the extra drive time from Quesnel BC. Provincial park ticket price is for 2 days if you want to break it up but one day should be enough. Those with walking difficulties will find it a challenge as town is built on a grade. The main street is not paved, as it was not in it's day, and the... More
