Do not expect big city museum...I found this one interesting and with exhibits that were well-sourced. I also went to the small local museums in Nanaimo (best), Ladysmith (2nd best), Chemainus (3rd), Qualicum Bay (4th)--though each was interesting in their own way

Although this museum is small it was well worth it as it is filled to the brim with local historical memorabilia. My favorite part was the Barbie collection that were made up in era style clothing and hair depicting different scenes from the past.

Friendly volunteers, great chance to step back in time & learn about the lives of the citizens. Wonderful displays, great for all ages. Can donate admission, so you afford it for any family or couple.
