Founded in 1988, we are one of the largest fully guided sport-fishing operators on the Fraser River and it's tributaries. Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world visit us to experience the world-renowned fishing and natural wonder of the Fraser River in beautiful British Columbia. This calm water fishery features over ten species of sport fish and year round opportunities for the novice and expert angler alike.
We fish the #1 Sturgeon, Salmon and Trout rivers in the World. We specialize in multiple styles of fishing to meet the needs of any angler. Have you ever caught or touched a real living Dinosaur? We specialize in targeting White Sturgeon, a species that can grow over 20 feet in length and over a 1000lbs. These magnificent creatures make spectacular jumping displays and runs that will excite every angler. We also fish for all 5 species of Wild Pacific Salmon and boast the largest and most experienced team of fly fishing guides on the entire river. We exclusively travel to the Upper Pitt River and Lillooet River to chase sea run Dolly Varden, Bull Trout, Rainbow and migrating Salmon. Would highly recommend Great River Fishing Adventures! Dean and Alyssa were such great communicators, and made booking a great sturgeon fishing adventure easy. My husband and I along with our two teenagers and 1 young adult child thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Rick our guide was the best, very knowledgeable, a kind and patient teacher. Rick worked very hard taking us to all the different fishing spots baiting and setting the lines, answering all our burning questions all while taking tons of great photos. The jet boat was fast, clean, and comfortable. There was ample room on board for all of us, our cooler, and to maneuver around when the fish were on.

I honestly cannot say enough nice things about the team at Great River Fishing Adventures, I had a 2 day trip and was absolutely blown away at the professionalism and knowledge of Dean. Not only was I able to catch an absolute monster sturgeon over 9 foot I was also able to tag some juveniles and learn all the history about such an incredible animal. If you're able to do it you absolutely should, this should be on everyone's bucket list and the team at Great River Fishing Adventures is truly the pinnacle of the experience.

Highly recommend, originally booked a one day trip up the Canyon, we had so much fun we called that evening and asked for a second day, Dean and his crew shuffled things around last minute and made it happen. Dawson our guide was incredible he tools lots of photos for us and put us on the fish both days. Day two we caught the fish of a lifetime. Views in the canyon are spectacular.

This outfit truly is in a league of its own. I’ve been out with them multiple times and am always blown away with their knowledge of the area, drive for success on the water and overall great atmosphere on the boat. Our guide, Dawson, had us hooked in 15 minutes after the anchor hit the bottom and throwing high fives all day. There’s no place I’d rather be and 100% the crew to do it with. Until next time!!!

Our family experience with Great River Fishing in July of 2024 was nothing short of amazing! Dean and Rick were our boat captains and guides. So much experience and knowledge was immediately apparent. Knowledge of the rivers, the fish and history was extensive! Their boat handling skills were second to none and their guiding and fishing abilities were outstanding! Having been a professional guide and outfitting family for many years ourselves we could honestly say that Great River Fishing is an amazing company that truly knows how to take care of their clients. Alyssa handled all of our booking, lodging reservations and helped us with our travel plan, fishing licenses and happily handled our last minute questions and changes. The Frasure River Canyon was magnificent. Monster Sturgeon live there…..We will be back soon.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Dean and Alyssa are very professional and the service they provided was nothing short of perfect.
Our guide, Landon aka “Rocky”, was absolutely amazing providing us with incredible fishing throughout the week. His knowledge and patience was fantastic and he managed to take us to places on the Fraser no other guide has taken us before! Nothing was too much trouble and we always felt extremely confident that he could put us on to fish.
I would not hesitate to recommend them highly to anyone looking for the ultimate angling experience. We will be back.

This was a special weekend for my daughter and I. First we booked the Domes to spend 3 nights which were magical. Next, contacted Alyssa and she was so helpful and professional answering my questions and making sure we had all the correct documentation.
We met Dean the owner at our Dome on the first night and enjoyed our chat. He made us very welcome and was excited for our fishing trip.
Next, Mitch our guide. What can I say he was very knowledgeable, professional and fun. We caught 8 fish in 8 hours which tells you what a great guide he is.
I've already started to spread the word to my friend and clients to book an amazing Sturgeon Fishing trip with Great River Fishing Adventures.

WOW. A trip of a lifetime! Sturgeon fishing the Fraser river had been on my bucket list for a few years and I couldn't have been happier fulfilling this dream with Great River Fishing Adventures and my mom by my side.
Mitch was a superb guide, so kind and knowledgeable. From the moment he picked us up on the beach to the moment he dropped us off, every minute was fantastic. When the fish weren't biting, he would adjust the boat and immediately fish were on the line. He taught us so much about sturgeon and the Fraser river. Even after we were exhausted from reeling in so many monsters, he gave us the courage to keep on fishing! The day flew by and he got the best pictures of me and my mom that we will cherish forever.
Not only was this a bucket list trip for me, this was also a super special trip for both me and my mom as we lost my brother / her son to an overdose 8 weeks ago. We felt his spirit with us on this trip, he was for sure laughing along with Mitch watching us try and reel in these giant fishies, and also giving us strength.
I highly recommend booking your sturgeon fishing charter with Great River Fishing Adventures. You will not be disappointed! Everyone that was involved in the booking and the communication was just top-notch. Incredible customer service. Just all around a fantastic experience. I'm hooked on sturgeon fishing and won't be booking anywhere other than Great River Fishing Adventures!!

Returned for a fourth trip with Great River Fishing Adventures and the experience just keeps getting better. From pick up at the airport to the last drop off at the hotel, everything was seamless, taking any worries about the trip away. Our guide was brilliant throughout the 10 day trip, constantly working to keep us on fish, not staying in the same position all day, additionally his knowledge of the river, its wildlife and history provided extra interest. As for the actual fishing, 60 sturgeon were landed, including seven of them over 8ft.
As an additional treat, we also stayed 2 nights in the Domes that they offer, again these were of the highest quality, and the outdoor hot tub, fire pit table and bbq allowed for a fantastic experience, that shouldn't be missed if you are fishing for a few days up the canyon.
To sum it up an awesome experience with a fantastic company.

It’s great to know Dawson kept you on fish all trip, with an impressive 60 sturgeon landed, including seven over 8 feet… What an unforgettable achievement! The canyon and main stem Fraser certainly delivered some epic fishing, and we’re so glad you enjoyed the added bonus of the Domes. Between the hot tub, fire pit, and BBQ, it really is the perfect place to unwind after a big day on the water.

You will never know what it is like to battle a sturgeon on the Fraser River until you do it!
We contacted Great River Fishing Adventures, Chilliwack, BC to book two days of sturgeon fishing and we opted to fish in the Canyon of the Fraser River, just north of Hope. As B.C. residents we have always appreciated the beauty of this Province and so the stunning scenery of the canyon, it’s rushing waters with back eddies and strong currents was the perfect place for the drama to unfold!
And, drama it was! With two excellent, experienced and friendly guides, Landon on the first day and Steve on the second, we managed to bring ten fish to the boat, two of which, we also took to the shore.
Fish sizes ranged from 8 ½ feet, approximately 340lbs, which dragged us over 7kms downstream, to a 2 ½ foot youngster who lay quietly in the cradle on the boat. The majority of the rest fell into the 5 1/2 to 7 1/2ft range. The fish were kissed on their heads before swimming away!
The power of these fish is indescribable! If you are not prepared to “hang on for grim death” and seize every precious opportunity to reel against the muscle and resistance of these prehistoric monsters, then this is not for you! It is a battle of dogged determination between you and the fish to see who will overcome!
We found it personally challenging, exhausting and exhilarating, straining every single muscle in our bodies to the max and what a rush it was! But, at the end of the day, we were both able to say “I did it”!
We will never forget this experience. It will be embedded in our memories as the time that Great River Fishing Adventures, with Dean, Alyssa, Landon and Steve enabled us to participate in an adventure of a lifetime.
Your professionalism, efficiency and friendliness were amazing. Thank you all so much, we will be back!
