Birds of prey have always inspired awe. Sadly, they are threatened in many parts of the world. When you experience them up close, you learn that they are more than predators from the sky; they are essential to maintaining the delicate eco-balance of our planet. The Raptors offer compelling and interactive experiences with a variety of birds of prey species including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. Get closer than you ever imagined to these majestic and intelligent creatures. Flying demonstrations, hands-on encounters and educational talks offered daily (March - October). The Raptors is located in the heart of the beautiful Cowichan Valley, just 60 minutes north of Downtown Victoria and 45 minutes south of Downtown Nanaimo by car.

Such a pleasant, calm country Vancouver Island type experience. ..beautiful rescued birds flying free within feet of the bleacher benches in the little field. We have a B and B in the local area and always recommend a trip to the Raptors.

It was something so see all the different raptors up close. We were lucky enough to be there to watch two families who had made special arrangements to wear the glove and hold lot so different birds. The best was when they released a hawk...More

I’ve never seen any Raptor closer than there nor even on television. Such a great surprise on my way back to Victoria. Highly recommended for any ages.

We explored the Sidney and Duncan area and this was one of the highlights. Our 7 year old animal lover, and our 10 year old who isn’t as interested in animals, both thought The Raptors was AMAZING! We learned a lot about raptors and it...More

We weren't sure what to expect when we took out of town visitors to The Raptors, (which I had known as the Birds of Prey attraction). But we were all very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Tina, the presenter (and a biologist) was really good as...More

Sorry, it's not my centre. There is an island bus system but I don't think they go to the centre, that said you could take a taxi.
