About
One of the oldest Estate Wineries in all of British Columbia, Blue Grouse is truly a magical place! Nestled on a 32arce piece of unspoiled Cowichan Valley countryside, this family owned winery and vineyard produces some of the most awarded wines on the entire island! From Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Ortega, Bacchus and the very rare Black Muscat, Blue Grouse produces new classic wines from old island vines.

Disappointed in the actual tastings
Aug. 2021 • Friends
The only disappointment on our wine tour. Tasting pours were minuscule, minimal information on the three wines they had given us, all three tasting were poured at once with a very short description and no hand out to help explain all the wines that were available. The view and building was impressive but it was the only winery we visited that we did not make a purchase.

A wine tour "must"

3rd Visit. It is a beautiful setting, very well organized and the information on the wines is well presented. Also enjoyed the additional information about bees by a very knowledgeable staff member. Recommend reservations as it is busy. Always take home a bottle of wine

Beautiful vineyard and very good wines

We dropped in on our way to Victoria and we were able to book a 3 wine tasting each. My wife tried 3 whites and I tried 3 reds. All were delightful on the nose and palette. We liked all six. Our wine steward was Alexandra and she did a fine job explaining the various wines and the history of the winery.

Beautiful Estate Winery!

The staff at Blue Grouse are very friendly and accommodating! They do a great job at making the tasting experience safe due to Covid by having the glasses all poured and tables made up nicely with information provided on the wines. The staff do a great commentary and provide an excellent tasting experience. We were pretty happy with the wines. Blue Grouse is a beautiful estate winery with lovely views of the vineyard and mountain vistas. I highly recommend Blue Grouse!

Most beautiful and inviting winery in the Cowichan Valley
Sep. 2019 • Couples
Our most favourite weekend afternoon treat - a bottle of Blue Grouse wine (my favorite - - the Bacchus) on the patio - accompanied by snacks thrown together at home or indulging in the tasty charcuterie plates available at Blue Grouse.

A gorgeous and world class tasting room with warm, friendly and unpretentious staff all eager to help appreciate the amazing wine.

Wow! Whatta Winery!

Like wine? Love discovering? You gotta go to Blue Grouse. This "cold-climate" vineyard and winery in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island produces a Q-red that rocks lamb and an Off-Dry invigorating Indian cuisine. The tasting house architecture, the vineyard ambiance and the staff attitude make this stop superb. Plus, Laird Campbell's art is amazing.

Great all round
Sep. 2019 • Couples
We had a wonderful time at Blue Grouse, where we tasted 5 wines and had a charcuterie platter. The wine tasting was particularly good value for money... $5 each and if you bought a bottle of wine it was taken off the price. The team there were chatty and informative and we loved being able to sit outside to eat after we’d done our tasting. We’d imagine this place would be really popular in peak season so might be worth booking ahead if you visit then.
