Whippletree Junction is an ever changing shopping centre, but there are a few shops that have been there for a number of years. Including world famous Fudge, fantastic espresso and breakfast lunch - Coffee Shack and growing shopping experiences. One of the Local Native Indian Artists makes Whippletree Junction his home, Herb Rice has his studio where he sells his handcrafted art pieces and takes commissions as well as teaches Native Carving Classes.

Worth a stop en route heading North or Driving South on the Malahat Hwy on Vancouver Island!
Thoroughly enjoyed a variety of shops and delightful staff. Had an excellent egg salad sandwich and coffee at the Whippletree Cafe for under $ 10.00!
Browsed at many shops with excellent souvenirs, local artisans and furniture. Make the stop and stay awhile. Great place to take a break en route to your destination when enjoying the island. Will stop again.

Whippletree Junction is home to a number of small businesses but it was Herb Rice, a Master Cowichan carver that prompted my visit. His work is incredible and he is both an talented artist and raconteur. A visit to his workshop/studio (hidden in the very back of Whippletree Junction) is definitely worth your time to visit. While you are there stop in to the Whippletree Junction Cafe for coffee and a sandwich--the food and coffee are delicious and the people very nice. This is a local hangout and if you arrive before ten AM you'll be treated to some local hospitality and made to feel very welcome.

We enjoyed wandering around the old buildings. Nice leg stretch break on the drive and the shops and grounds are interesting. Admittedly, it borders on run down and charming - but at this point, it's still charming.

The tea pot garden in the courtyard behind the main stores is lovely, especially now in the early spring. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through this whimsical courtyard.

There is a variety of shops. The gift shop is good. A small wood stove in a log-type cabin gives it lots of ambiance. You'll find good fudge and a lot of native art pieces, pottery and jewelry inside.

There's a huge selection of wicker furniture and accessories in the Wicker furniture Shop. I thought it was pricey, but have never comparison shopped on wicker before. Seemed to be very good quality pieces.

The Nest Collective shop was interesting - antique pieces, some craft pieces and an art gallery. There's a small new garden addition on the side; some very creative plantings. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, so give it a go.

A couple of shops (which weren't open due to holiday weekend) seem to focus on sewing and quilting and other crafts. Lessons were offered at several shops.

We'll stop again, especially since a couple of stores were closed on this trip.

Some reviews say this is a run down collection of old buildings but there are still some jewels in the group. The yarn shop is excellent with good prices and fantastic selection. The gift store behind had good prices and a nice selection of local crafts. Some gorgeous Burled wood bowls. It is a quirky place but these stores make it a worthwhile stop for us.

In the past this attraction was charming and interesting for locals and tourists. It is now a shambles because the owners are not investing in the maintenance of the site and buildings. For example, the coffee shop is particularly dirty and rundown. Hire some landscape designers and a maintenance company please. I will not be back until I see evidence of improvement.

Lots of cute little stores. Lots of homemade stuff. Antiques, furniture, homemade all natural makeup. Nice little place to stop and stretch your legs to go in and look.

This used to be a popular tourist stop but now is just a sad collection of shops in a run down ramble shackle series of buildings.

Along the Trans Canada highway south of Duncan. Restaurant coffee shop, art, furniture store and tourist interests. Nice place to stop on Vancouver Island. Suggest to check the website listed on this Tripadvisor page

The buildings are as authentic as you care to get. They used to occupy where the "Round building" and the world's "widest" totem pole are now, in Duncan. It's one of those places to stop if you are travelling through. It's also a go to place for locals on a leisurely basis. Easy to find, easy to park (free), and lots to see within walking distance. Wheelchair friendly, too.
