Touristy but delivered well; see it before Fort Langley losses it charm as there are developments that are impacting the softness of this little village and the flavor and feel will not return once the developers are finished - it is barely retained as we speak. Pity

This National Historic Site of Canada is located just off a main street (Glover) in Fort Langley, BC, Canada. 6 KM north of the TCH #1 Highway 232nd street north exit, the site has all day free parking. After touring the Historic Fort and all it's different displays, the stores of Fort Langley are just a 5 minute walk. Very... More

What a great time, my husband & I went out recently, it was my first time back since I was in grade school and my husbands first time ever, love how they still have people who play the roles & show how things were done back then including dressing from that time period. Very informative & an inexpensive way for... More

We came for the kids' school assignment. The visit was all around the demonstrations. Blacksmith and shooting black powder muskets and of course lighting a fire with flint and stone were the highlights. The kids got little booklets at the entrance, had them stamped and even read a bit. They loved the junior blacksmith station where they bent little pieces... More

Maybe I missed it, but I only found antique shops and restaurants. Some plaques and a visitor center would be interesting to check out.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this site. I was never really into history much in high school but coming here was actually really cool. The people who work there are really informed and know a lot about the history. Not to mention they are trained to do blacksmith work, which is AWESOME! Not many people I know can... More

The Fort itself is a good way to understand a part of the history of BC through the Hudson's Bay company's past. You can spend a few hours there visiting several houses and putting yourself in the shoes of a trader back in the 19th century. I found the main house the most interesting and rich of accessories, objects or... More

Interesting in that this is the birthplace of the province I lived in for nearly my whole life. I never realized how little I knew about my own home. Very informative and eductional and still fun. Also the written descriptions on the walls are just enough to educate you on the history of the place without being way too long.... More

Love the "Old-style Fort" enclosure - very early pioneer logs etc. One of the best attractions is the old blacksmith forge where they will crank out a souvenir for you -- on the spot. It's great for the kids and oldsters alike. There's a lot of history in the actual fort that's worth learning about the early trappers and farmers... More
