I took my children aged 7 and 5 to the Science Centre this afteroon for something fun to do out of the heat. We caught the Static Electricity show and explored the space exhibit which were fun and they learned a lot from. The presenters and staff were fun, friendly and knowledgeable We ended up spending three hours there. There is so much to explore!

The Science Centre was a great place for us to take our grandchildren, aged 2 and 4. Lots of things to try and learn about for all ages.

We visited with our 4-year old grandson. He had a lot of fun, as did the adults. Although it doesn't have the look of larger, more professional styled science centres, there is a lot of play and learning value in this school gym! There were hands-on activities relating to space, light, sound, mirrors, pulleys & levers, fluids, rocks & minerals, microscopes, and other topics. By each display, there was a card that told you how to experiment with the equipment, asked questions to consider, and explained the scientific principles behind the activity if you took the time to read them. Admission was very reasonable -- Family $15, Adults $6, Over 60 $4, & children under 6 were free. I don't remember the price of older children. For 2 adults, 2 grandparents, and one preschooler, we were charged the family rate.

Great place to have a flash back from the past and relive your childhood. You can spend hrs here playing with all the equipment learning how everything scientifically works and then there is teaching seminars as well. Just watch out for the few reptile aquariums, startles me every time. There is a small fee to get in. They also have special interest nights.

A great place for basic science learning and entertainment. Often they have 'special events' with different themes that all the kids and adults just love. Highly recommend this as a must stop for any tourist. A super fun place where you can easily spend more than an hour. Lots of interactive items to try!

This place needs to advertise more! I was surprised to hear Kamloops even had a science centre. We only heard about this place through word of mouth. Seems like an odd location in the middle of a residential area, but the building is a re-purposed school, put to excellent use.

Great place for kids of any age! The old gymnasium is full of interactive displays for the kids to get some hands on learning (the best method IMHO). Friendly helpful staff. (In case you didn't know, if you have a membership at the Vernon Science Centre, it's useable here!) Certainly worth checking out if you're in the area!

The kids will love it and so shall Mom and Dad. A lot of hands on experiments and some awesome teaching sessions. It compares to what you find at Science World Vancouver but with a more personal touch.
