Great two days of wine touring

We had purchased gift cards for this wine tour from Costco more years back than we had thought. Although the company had changed hands since we purchased the cards, Marsha was most accommodating and graciously accepted them at face value. We understood this was a quieter time of the year to be booking a wine tour, particularly early in the week but again Marsha was exceptional in making things work for us with less than the minimum number of guests she usually requires. We were flexible in our tour arrangements as was she and she made it work for us. She kept in touch with us continually as to pick up times and tour itinerary.

Our tour guide and driver, Bob, arrived right on time both days at our hotel as scheduled, in vehicles that were spotless and well maintained. Our first day was an hour's drive from West Kelowna to the South Okanagan around Oliver and Osoyoos. Bob was knowledgeable and provided backgrounds on the 5 wineries we visited as well as information, history and stories of the region. It was a long day but Bob kept us informed and on schedule.

The next day we toured 5 of the West Kelowna wineries and found some small unexpected gems amongst them. Bob was again a terrific guide and patient with our endless questions. He was always right on top of marking and packing our wine purchases.

Lunch was arranged at one of the wineries each day. Both places were good (Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek and Old Vines at Quails Gate) but be warned the menu at Old Vines for lunch is the same as dinner and it is quite easy to be well over a $100 for two in a blink.

All in all a great couple of days and a company I would recommend to others without hesitation. Thanks again Marsha and Bob.

The Time of My Life!

We took the Sampler Tour West Kelowna on Friday, September 11, 2020 and had a fabulous day! We were picked up in a Ford Explorer Luxury Edition, which was so comfortable and cool as it was an extremely hot day. Our guide Roy was very knowledgeable about Kelowna, the wine region, the vineyards and able to answer all our questions. Roy also had a great sense of humour as we gals were intent on having a fun day. He dropped us off at each of the 4 wineries we toured, checking us in and then giving us the timeframe of our tastings and the freedom to enjoy the full experience on our own. Returning at the end of each tastings to collect us and carry our purchases to the vehicle - we all felt well cared for and safe throughout the day.
The 4 vineyards that were part of this tour (Quail's Gate, Frind, Mount Boucherie & Black Swift) were gorgeous providing us with awesome vistas of Okanagan Lake, the vineyard and the unique settings each unique property offered. The staff at each vineyard gave us all warm welcomes, friendly and informative hosts and an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Okanagan Wine Country Tours to any wine enthusiast – you'll have a fantastic time!

Best of Kelowna!

My boyfriend and I did the 6 hour Best of West Kelowna wine tour. We loved our tour guide Jim Fraser! He was very knowledgeable, kind and funny- he even opened the doors for us each time! He was also very punctual and accommodating. We also really enjoyed being in an unmarked vehicle, gives a little more sense of intimacy rather than rolling up in a huge, neon coloured van. Jim would tell us a little bit about the history of the area, why wines are the way they are in the area and some of the key info about each winery. He then left the information on the wines to the wineries themselves. During this new Covid era, everything needs to be pre booked. The company did an amazing job at booking all our winery tastings and our lunch stop ( which was also amazing), we never had to wait around and we were welcomed by each winery with smiles on their faces, which I think speaks to the companies reputation with the wineries themselves. 10/10 would recommend, when we go back we will tour with Okanagan Wine Country Tours again! Thanks so much!

A Day Out with Roy

My girlfriend and I were pleasantly welcomed at our hotel pickup by Roy. He was extremely well spoken and very well mannered, he politely gave us a run down of all of the new COVID protocols and what to expect from the trip. Right from the get go we were introduced to Roy's genuine personality and demenor through his colourful stories and commentary. Throughout the experience he offered many of insightful tips and tricks to improve wine tasting as this was our first time. The experience only got better as more and more of his entertaining and wild stories are told. The selection of wineries showcased Kelowna's wine country in the perfect way. We honestly had one of the most memorable experiences that we will hold on to dearly and a lot of that is due to the amazing hospitality put forward by Roy.

Amazing way to experience the Okanagan!

We booked this tour as a group of friends (8 girls) and we were all extremely impressed by this company from beginning to end. To start, planning our afternoon with Marsha was seamless and we were able to customize our day and experience 4 different vineyards with incredible wines, views and experiences. We wanted to save some money on lunch and our guide was able to pick up sandwiches at a spot we liked for a picnic later in the day. It was an extremely hassle free booking experience and I was especially impressed when Marsha refunded us a spot for a girl who dropped out last minute due to COVID.

We also cannot say enough wonderful things about our tour guide Bob who picked us up right on time, and expertly ushered us between the wineries. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wine and also had a great sense of humour and helped the afternoon pass with ease. It was clear that he enjoyed his job and his passion and kindness shown through all day.

On a final note, the sprinter Van was extremely clean, they had water and snacks and truly thought of everything. An amazing experience overall would 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants to experience Okanagan wine with a big group.

"Best of West Kelowna Wine Tour" and It really was the best.

Our tour guide was Bob Markle and I cannot say enough good things about this gentleman. As a rookie wine taster, I was in the dark about wine terminology a little bit, but Bob explained everything in detail while providing some great laughs along the way. He was more than everything I would have expected from our guide. Wine Country Tours has organized the Best of West Kelowna tour flawlessly, I highly recommend you try it.

Best Wine Tour Ever

We did a 4 hour 4 winery tour with this company. Booking was seemless and the compnay was very accomedating with our changing group numbers and bookings. Our pickup was on time and I can't speak enough about our tour guide Roy. He was very knowledgable not only about wine but about the surrounding area as this was our first time in Kelowna. Him and his wife made us personalized loot bags with the perfect snacks and he went above and beyond what I ever imagined a wine tour guide to do.

THANK YOU ROY!

You truley made this experience one of the best wine tours I've ever been on.

What a way to spend and afternoon

What an experience! We were booked on this tour via our travel agent trailfinders and our first point of contact was in confirming our places. Marsha replied very promptly confirming our tour and giving us the name of out guide - Roy. To my surprise Roy then e mailed with arrangements for the tour - he said that we would be provided with water, but didn’t mention the goody bag ( suggested by his wife) ! I believe that dark chocolate and red wine are a marriage made in heaven and so this afternoon I was in the company of the celestial beings!!
The wineries we visited were a really good cross section of Canadian growers and producers. We tasted some delicious wines and learnt a lot about how the terroir affects the final taste of wine. Roy introduced us to each host/hostess but then allowed them to tailor the tasting to our preferences; following up afterwards with us as to how the tasting had gone and for our feedback on each winery. I wish we had more time here because if we did, I would book another full day tour with this company; sadly we have to return home but will always fondly remember our afternoon of wine tasting and additional facts from Roy - you are a legend!

Best two days ever

The best husband ever (mine!) planned a secret anniversary adventure to Kelowna wine country. We did two tours with OWCT: one with Mary Ellen in lake country on Saturday and one with Brian in West Kelowna on Sunday. Both were stellar, tho my favorite was on Sunday since it was just the two of us with Brian. Both were knowledgeable, kind, and patient.

Unfortunately, we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for the Saturday tour since the time had been miscommunicated to some of the girls on our tour. (And since we're always early, this meant we waited a full hour in the hotel lobby...). This was not Mary Ellen's fault at all and she was calm amid the chaos and gracious despite it all. I would normally dock a company for this lack of promptness (a few minutes is understandable but 45?), but Mary Ellen was so kind that I can't bring myself to do so. Hopefully they remedy this issue.

Brian made certain that we were able to visit all the wineries on our list - somehow even getting us into the Mission Hill tour that was already full. We were able to slip in an extra winery (the most excellent Volcanic Hills). We loved Indigenous, and it was awesome that we could compare winemaker prowess with the phenomenal Hatch (as they share the same one). We dined at Quail's Gate, a definite treat. (We got to hear a great bassist play for morning brunch that we'd just heard the night before at Wilber's Art & Wine.)

Many thanks to both for a truly special couple of days.

Making family memories!

Great day with my mom and four daughters! Marsha and Larry our driver had everything set up and it all ran smoothly and on time. Each winery was prepared and expecting us. Larry suggested to bring a light snack and had a cooler and water for us. He then saved us the best seats at the vineyard so we could share a bottle of wine after our wine testing. He was knowledgeable about the area and wineries and went the extra mile! He picked up up at the hotel, we toured and tasted at 4 wineries and brought us laughing, smiling and safely back to the hotel afterward.
