A great day of cycling with some fantastic views!
Sep. 2021
Good advice and prompt, personalized responses to any questions posed to the tour company ensured no surprises on the trip. This kind of commitment to customer service was really appreciated and doesn’t just happen without good people throughout the organization making it possible.

What an experience! Something we will never forget. A big thank-you to Martin our tour guide. The guided tour was very informative and so interesting. The scenery was breathtaking and the bicycle ride was easy! When in Kelowna - do this tour.

We did the bike tour in the morning and wine tour in the afternoon! It was a great day all around and I would highly recommend this tour. Myra canyon was a must do and we enjoyed all 5 wineries that were chosen for the afternoon tour.

Fantastic day cycling and wine tasting
We booked the full day guided tour starting with cycling the KVR Trail across the trestle bridges in the morning followed by a winery tour in the afternoon. The company was fantastic answering our questions leading up to the trip as we assessed fire and air quality concerns from afar, offering a number of options should we decide to reschedule. On the tour day they graciously moved us to the next day due to rain. Martin was our guide and he was very accommodating and easy to be around. He took many family photos at the various scenic spots on the bike tour and fit in well with our family chatter and banter as he drove us to five different wineries in the area in the afternoon. We had a super fun day and would recommend Myra Canyon Bike Rentals and Tours to anyone visiting Kelowna.

Bucket List Bike Ride
Jul. 2021 • Couples
We were picked up at our hotel on time and in a large, clean, air conditioned van with the company logo. The driver was personable, professional and knowledgeable explaining the sights and pointing out things of interest along the way. We did the self guided 24k ride from Myra Station to Ruth Station and return. It was spectacular! The trail is flat and well maintained, an easy ride, in fact it must be an optical illusion because it appears to be downhill both ways! They set you up with good bikes, water and a granola bar. The trail is straight forward enough that a guide is not required but we did notice that a guided tour we observed were getting a whole lot of sights pointed out and explained that the average rider would miss. The views are amazing and there are many benches and overlook areas to stop, stare and enjoy a snack, but watch out for the chipmunks, habituated and aggressive. They can and will nip you! There are historical plaques and signage to stop and read. Honestly, it’s mind boggling to think of what it took to build that railway back in the day. At a leisurely pace the ride took 4 hours. The staff are ever so friendly and helpful. Shout out to Keith who was so happy to chat and direct us to bike trips closer to home.
You can just tell that these folks will do anything in there power to ensure you have a safe and fantastic ride.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a positive and thoughtful review. It is always nice to hear that our clients have enjoyed their time riding the Myra Canyon Trail. It really is an amazing place to ride and so close to Kelowna! Our company takes a lot of pride trying to ensure that our clients have the best experience they can at Myra and I will relay this message to all the staff. As for me, it really was my pleasure meeting you and chatting about other great rides in BC. I hope that you are able to visit some of those places (and you can always come back to Myra Canyon). Thanks again.

Great experience if everyone follows the rules!
Jul. 2021
The scenery on this bike ride is amazing, It was a bit hazy from the wild fires but still beautiful. The trestle bridges are quite narrow so it is expected that when someone is on the bridge, you wait before crossing the opposite direction. Most riders were doing this but not all. There is not enough room to pass safely on every bridge as they are different widths and some are curvy.

Because of this, one rider rode on the bridge while we were on and my husband could not get around her safely, he fell off the trestle part and crashed his bike into the railing. He needed search and rescue to come get him. He broke his arm in 2 places. The other issue of concern is cell spotty cell service, but that is expected in remote areas.

The biggest issue of concern is the Provincial Parks rule about not allowing any motorized vehicle on the trails or bridges. Because of this, we had a very long wait for Search and Rescue to bring their UTV to pick up my husband. If the bike rental company was allowed to have their own emergency vehicle, we could have been able to leave the canyon much sooner. If there was a more serious situation, time is not on your side!

I would like to comment on how generous and concerned the other bikers were that saw us. We were given water and Gatorade, an RN came by and checked him out, someone creatively made a sling from a backpack and lots asked if we were ok.

Emily from Myra Canyon Bike Rentals was also great. She came and stayed with us the whole time while waiting for Search and Rescue. She communicated with SAR to make sure they got to our location and kept track of my husbands symptoms.
It would have been a wonderful bike ride had he not had this accident.

People need to have common courtesy and realize that these bridges are one way and be patient.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your husband’s fall. We instruct every one of our clients to ride single file, let people pass, and give pedestrians right of way on the trestles. We, as a bicycle rental company work in collaboration with the Myra Canyon Trestles Restoration Society and send one of our employees as a trail host (Emily in this case) onto the trail every day during July and August to provide information to the tourists and be of assistance when needed, that is all we can do for support in such cases. Unfortunately, we are not the official first aid or emergency crew, so we are not allowed to undertake any rescue missions but only provide assistance by staying with a person in need waiting for the emergency crew to arrive. We are trying our best to help as much as possible.

Easy rental and great trail
Sep. 2020
We rented bikes for four hours to do the 24 km Myra Canyon trail. The online reservation system was easy, and the bikes were tagged and ready for us when we got there. The staff at check in and drop off were helpful, explaining the gears and the trail etiquette.

The trail itself was fantastic. Flat and wide, over 18 trestles and through 2 tunnels. There can be some waiting at the trestles as they are one-way - if someone is on them coming towards you, you wait until they have crossed before you start across. I'd recommend coming in the morning, as it gets busy and there is more waiting in the afternoon, even on a weekday.

We would definitely do this trail and rent bikes from this company again.
