About SpearHead Winery
Our winery is located in south east Kelowna and on our estate we grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. About 80% of our 15 acres of vines is comprised of pinot noir including several different clones. This combination of plantings enables Winemaker Grant Stanley to select from the different characteristics exhibited by these clones in order to create a harmonious, complex Pinot Noir from our home vineyard. We also draw from a number of other vineyards in the Okanagan including Golden Retreat in Summerland and Coyote Vineyard in West Kelowna. Our focus is on premium quality wine which we produce from grapes grown on our estate vineyard and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. SpearHead is proud to have been recognized as #7 in the Top 10 Small Wineries and #16 in the Top 25 Wineries in Canada at the 2019 National Wine Awards.

Nice outdoor tasting - the pinots are as good as they get in Okanagan Valley. Well worth the tasting.

My husband and I had a great time enjoying their portfolio of wines. Beautiful pinot noirs and the chardonnay was a favourite. The patio is a lovely setting amongst their vines. Their cover precautions were great. We felt safe. All of the staff wore masks (except for one male staff member?). We will definitely recommend to others who are pinot fans! Cheers!

Glad you enjoyed the Pinots!! The Chardonnay is my favorite too! (But don't tell the other wines... don't want them thinking we have a favorite child). Really glad to hear you felt comfortable during your visit, this has been an interesting year to navigate. I appreciate your comment on the 'one staff member' - we have addressed this. Thanks for the recommendation, and do hope we get the chance to host you again in the future.

Best Pinot Noir we’ve ever had! It deserves all the awards. The tasting is great, you get to experience great wines. And if you’re lucky, you’re in for a surprise musical performance by the young and talented Josh (apologizes if I didn’t get the name right) playing acoustic guitar. It compliments the tasting experience so well. Great job! I’d highly recommend this winery.

This is THE place to come if you love pinot noir. If you are looking for bells and whistles, huge buildings and modern art all over the place while you tour wineries with your stagette group, this is not that experience. If you are looking for great wine, a personal tasting experience hosted by knowledgeable staff who can tell you about the terroir of each wine, taking place on a beautiful patio overlooking their estate vineyard, this is your spot. The wine is award-winning and the $10 tasting fee is waived with the purchase of two bottles. There is a pinot for every palette and you shouldn't have trouble finding two (or more) you want to take home. Definitely worth a stop.

Thank you for the recommendation for all those pinot lovers out there. Out of the thirteen wines we released this year, nine of them were based on pinot noir. Just goes to show you how much we love that grape, not to mention Grant is an amazing winemaker. Hope to see you again in the future!

Sorry to hear you feel you didn't get the bang for your buck. We did increase our fees this summer as there were a lot more logistics and the added private table and table side education was meant to elevate the experience. Not sure what the fee will be in 2021, but hope we get the chance to welcome you back.
