Home of the WHL's Kelowna Rockets, Small venue but great for hockey games. The building is very inconspicuous from the outside. Also the parking is a bit of a challenge. Fun for hockey games, was pretty well attended while we were there.

We attended a concert at Prospera, it's a good facility that was easy to access and had all the standard stuff. My only complaint would be that they shut down the concessions to early.

As a location for watching hockey, or curling this is an excellent spectator venue. Parking options are another story.
We also have attended several concerts with varying results. Best advice for concerts - get seats at least 3 rows up as the constant flow of walkers and standees coming from ? makes viewing difficult - even in a smaller venue.

This venue is great for hockey games and markets! I have gone to a couple of musical groups and the sound system is okay, not great. I sat on the floor and everyone stood up during the whole concert so I couldn't see! Next time the sound was so loud and we had good seats near the stage, but had to move to farther away to bring down the volume.....

We attended a Rockets hockey game, and I found that the layout of the facility was very poor. Both home and away teams have to walk through public space to access their dressing rooms, which means that at the start and end of every period of play they must close down two corridors to allow for players to walk through.

Event day parking costs a fortune ($15 at the arena, $5 if you park at the library parkade). I think we paid about $100 for 3 adult and 2 kid tickets, so reasonably good value for the actual game.

There are huge lineups at the bathrooms at every intermission, both men's and women's. Food and drinks are grossly overpriced. The "customer service" level of most people that work here is terrible - I think only one employee of this facility smiled at me in all of the interactions I had. They do not permit you to leave and then re-enter the facility during events (which I'm sure is for some kind of security reason), but because of this, there is a smoking area just off the main corridors that if you walk anywhere near it during intermission reeks of cigarette smoke. You are not allowed to bring in outside food and drink (including water), and when I was searching for a water fountain or tap from which I could refill my empty iced tea bottle with cold water for my kids, there was nothing. My only option, after asking 3 or 4 staff members for help, was to fill it with warm water from the sinks in the bathrooms.

In addition to this, I found it quite disgusting the way that the fans at this game behaved. There had been a non-call on a hit against the home team, and many of the fans reacted with violent and vulgar comments thrown at the opposing team players, and referees. There was booing at the refs and "ref you suck" chanting. I have not been to a hockey game in quite some time, and I will not go again. I found it to be a disgraceful display of humanity, and I would never expose my 4 and 7 year old children to such behavior again.

I've also attended Propera Place for some other events, such as Canada Day events, music performances (it has terrible acoustics - like most arenas I would imagine), and as a presenter at a home show. None of these times stood out to me as being particularly pleasant experiences.

Prospera Place in Kelowna is likely where you will find sporting events, concerts and big crafting events. Parking is by Impark, so be prepared and avoid tickets. The good news is that Sunday parking on the surrounding streets is free.

The good news on this venue is that there are lots of washrooms and it's circular architecture makes getting back to your area pretty easy.

Coming from the UK this was our first Ice Hockey game ever and we enjoyed every exciting moment. Nothing special admittedly about the venue, however well located within Kelowna, every seat has a great view and it was great to support the Rockets who are firmly embedded and committed to their local community.

Good buffet and seats on the rail for our group of 30. THEY took the prime rib carving station away before the end of the first period which was a surprise as we didnt' know the food was going before the end of the 1st. To the credit of the staff they brought some out when we objected but that policy certainly needs to be relayed to guests who are planning multiple trips through the buffet. The South Okanagan Event Center 39 miles south for example leaves the buffet going strong till the end of the 2nd period. Please take note Kelowna.

We had a great time seeing Bert Kreischer here. Staff are quick to help and the facilities are well maintained.

We went to see the Broadway Play - Kinky Boots. It is not the right venue for this. The seats are hard ! And very tight, very small. Its the wrong space for a play. I cannot fault the facility. I guess there was no other venue available. The show had technical problems. Sound was not good. Lighting was poor. Too bad, the cast and the play itself was excellent. I think the arena itself is an excellent facility. I hope Kelowna builds a proper theater for these kinds of events.
