UNFORTUNATELY Not operating in 2019 - CLOSED
Apr. 2019 • Family
I was hoping to visit this year but the website says "it is with deep sadness that I must announce the closure of Hoof Prints Barnyard. Due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be able to operate the farm this season (2019)."

Cute little farm!
Oct. 2017
Good variety of well kept animals, friendly staff. Ideal for kids and group outings. They have a fire pit and free marshmallows to roast. A quick drive from downtown Kelwona. We'll be back next year!

If you love goats!
May 2017 • Friends
This is a wonderful petting zoo run by true animal lovers. They have an abundance of goats, along with an alpaca, pig, chickens, geese, sheep and horses. There is a small snack shack, a fireplace to roast marshmallows (for free!) and a nice area to sit and let kids play.

Fun for all ages
Jun. 2017 • Family
Went here for Fathers Day and had a great time. The petting zoo is mostly goats and they are adorable! Staff is very laid back and entry fee/proceeds go to helping rescue animals. We loved the access to the horses and the chickens. A big thank you to the owners as the concession stand will not break your budget. It is so nice to have treats, drinks and food without spending big $$$.
Thanks for keeping this affordable Hoof Prints!

We love family fun day at the farm. It is full of smiles and the kids have such a huge variety of entertainment with the animals, toys, games, and roasting marshmallows.

The Ideal Activity for Kids (and their grown ups)!
Oct. 2016 • Family
We arrived in Kelowna on Friday evening, and had two full days (Saturday and Sunday) to explore the city with our newly turned 6 year old. Unfortunately the Kangaroo Creek farm was closed (closes after thanksgiving weekend) but luckily, Hoof Prints was open on Sunday! We drove to Hoof Prints from our hotel in downtown Kelowna - it took about 20 minutes. There were clearly marked signs for the farm and where to park. Parking was free (free parking is always a welcome bonus!). Tim greeted us at the front gate and he was super friendly and welcoming. He explained the activities at the farm, and that they are a fairly new business and have plans for more family friendly activities (like a corn maze and pumpkin patch). We paid $5.00 per person as an entrance fee and $5.00 for a pony ride for our 6 year old daughter (they only accept cash but the prices are highly reasonable). The owner, Kristen, walked by us as we discussed what to do first ... Pony ride or visit the petting area ... She suggested that we do the pony ride first because a birthday party children were arriving and they would be lining up for pony rides soon. We headed straight over to the pony ride area and were greeted my three young women (possibly teenagers who have great emotional intelligence), who were all friendly and very engaging. They helped our daughter find a helmet that fit and helped her onto a horse (they thought the pony would be too short). The horses' name was Lacey and she was a gentle older horse who had been rescued from a very challenging situation (she was being neglected but Lacey was now in good health and well looked after)).The young woman who led Lacey was great with young children - our daughter said she was really nice. I took tons of pictures (her first time on a horse). After thanking the young women and Lacey, we headed to the petting area where 3 volunteers chatted with visitors about the different animals. Tim had mentioned that all of the animals in this area were friendly. Our daughter loved interacting with the animals ... Especially the 7 week old baby goats (kids). One of the kids cuddled into our daughter (she thought this was so sweet). We met Charlie, the calf who was very gentle and enjoyed the company of both children and grown ups. The engaging volunteers really added to the experience. Kristen, the owner (hope I have her name correct), was also very welcoming and explained how some of the animals have been rescued. She shared Lacey's story ... And her hope to rescue more animals. She also spoke about the need for children to be with animals, in outdoor spaces and that the digital age does a great disservice to our children and their well-being (all aspects including their social, emotional, physical and spiritual well being). Watching our daughter engaging with the animals was wonderful for her but also for us. Our daughter asked for another horse ride and we were happy to pay for an additional ride (this time, it was Amigo and he was also a wonderful horse but younger than Lacey). We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows (complimentary marshmallows) over a wonderfully large fire pit. It was a nice treat! There are also a couple of slides and other things for smaller children to do. There are some garden games too. They have a concession stand where they sell hot dogs, drinks and snacks (we already had brunch but the hot dogs looked good). It was a perfect 2 hours of fun for the whole family. We would definitely come back to Kelowna just for this activity!

Fun for All Ages!
Jun. 2016 • Couples
Our first visit here was actually to volunteer and we had a blast! This is clearly a hit with people of all ages. Everyone has a smile on their face as they enjoy time spent petting all of the animals. I'm partial to the jersey cows, but the goats and pigs are awesome as well!

Loved It!

Great place to take the kids. 20 month old twins were a bit nervous around the animals but the staff was great and the animals so friendly. Will definitely go back again! Enjoyed hanging out and having a hot dog after.

Must See!
Jun. 2016 • Couples
If you have kids and/or grandkids, you HAVE to go here! A wonderful hands on petting zoo. Looking for a place for a fun birthday party for the kids? This is a MUST. Great hosts, lots of animals, a bbq to use (you bring your own food and drinks) and a fire pit to roast marshmellows too. Pony rides as well. Both kids and adults have too much fun!

Amazing value
Jul. 2016 • Family
This place has only been open a couple of years and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Only open Sundays from 10 am. Go early as when we left around noon the line up for the rides was getting long. $5 for adults and children under 5 are free so a really good value. Free Marshmallow roast, play area, concession and a petting area as well. Really enjoyed it and will be back. Perfect for toddlers.

Thank you so much for posting about your experience here at the farm. We greatly appreciate you coming out and taking the time to review us! Just so there is no confusion for anyone reading your review, children 3 and under are free admission...not 5. Look forward to seeing you again soon!
