Interesting historical sites and information, well set up for group and family celebrations in campground-type settings. Very rustic trails and need to be sure walkers are safe from trail bike riders

Such a lovelly relaxing place to visit. We went over on a friends sailboat and spent time taking photograhs and looking at the ships waiting outside the harbor. Great place to spend the day.

3km walk around the island. This is a nice area to get away from the City of Nanaimo. Beautiful beaches, easy trail access, accidentally found the old coal mine.( area was blocked though).

I was told the average person spends 2-4hrs on the island. I gave myself 5hrs and it wasn't near enough. I'm an avid explorer. There are lots of trails, hidden gems & history to explore on the island. In good weather pack a lunch &...More

I enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend good walking shoes if you decide to walk around the island. The beaches close by to the ferry are amazing. The only negative is the washrooms were a bit dirty, with garbage's overflowing. We got their after lunch...More

It was my first time visiting Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park, and it was a blast! It is remote, yet close to the downtown harbour. You feel like the only person on the island, wandering the trails and taking in the scenery. Bring a picnic...More
