A short passenger ferry ride from Nanaimo. Good walking trails in a woodland setting. Wildlife abounds from rabbits to deer. Campsites available.

With coal mines and sandstone mines this island is fascinating. Great beaches for swimming and good docking for boats. Very near the Dingy Dock Pub for great food. A must when you visit Nanaimo.

Most of the trails are bike-friendly. There are a few branches off the main trails where you'll want to either dismount or just put the bike away. But, generally, the island is OK for bikes.
