After meeting other people on our trip to BC with e-bikes we decided to go to the dealer closest to where we were staying Nanaimo Pedego on Vancouver Island.
We met a very gracious and friendly Bryan who suggested we buy our bikes at the dealer closest to us at home in Ontario for servicing. He continued to tell us everything he knew about the bikes and answered all our questions. When we were ready to leave he said to come back on our way through and he would have two bikes ready for us to try.
We did! We were thrilled, and Bryan was amazing! Thank you Bryan for all your help and advice. You were amazing.

Had a fabulous day. Great staff in shop and lots of choices. We went out for the day and batteries were still above half charge. Amazing experience.

Pedego Electric bikes open up a whole to world of opportunities . They are advanced technological bikes that offer people a new way of transportation. These bikes include various bonuses that make riding bikes more fun. Pedal assist is a huge bonus because it lets people who have injuries or health conditions still have fun on bikes! The way it works is that when you pedal you can adjust the levels to help you along the way....it also makes you go faster! All of the bikes come with throttle's which is a good way to ride up hills. Pedaling is not necessary while using the throttle. Also these bikes are great for recreation and tourism. The store in Qualicum has a rental fleet available so that you can rent them. There are lovely paved trails located in Qualicum. Employees will offer you a map so that you can see the area in a exciting way. My favourite ride from experience is taking the Dollymount Trail to Parksville. I was introduced to this business by the interest in rentals, now I'm considering purchasing.
I recently also heard of the store doing tours, one being the foodie tour. This is when a tour guide takes you to the French Creek Fishery, Cheese works, wine tasting and a local bakery. Seems like an outing I will have to make soon.
Overall these bikes are made for fun. Not only are they intelligent inventions that help people get back out there but also to have a good time . This is something that all sorts of people can do! It caters to those of different interests and pleases them all!
I absolutely love these bikes and find it a reliable product. The store offers a friendly, understanding environment that's open to help you out. I suggest everyone to give these bikes a try.

We bought two Pedego City Commuter bikes in August 2014. As seniors, this purchase has opened up a whole new dimension to cycling for us. Ruby & Julie have been such a delight to deal with right from the start with helpful advice and lots of support. We have taken the bikes to Victoria, Denman Island, Little Qualicum River Falls and many shorter trips around our own area. We can now go to places we would never have gone with our regular bikes. With "pedal assist" we can get as much help from the motor as we feel we need. We can easily handle rides of 25 - 30 km.
Check out the Pedego store and see the various types of bike available. The ladies and their staff are very knowledgeable and will show models to suit your personal requirements. The store also carries a rack which is designed specifically for electric bikes and easily handles the weight in a secure and stable manner. This feature was very important to us.
When we bought the bikes, we were reassured to know both Ruby and Julie are able to service and give after sales care should it be necessary to adjust the bikes, and they now have a team of technicians to help them.
Definitely the right purchase for us!

We were thrilled with the attention to detail we received today at PEDEGO. The fit the bike to my size, gave me seat options and talked to me in detail about which bikes might suit my frame and ability. I highly recommend renting a bike to see what you are missing. Seems like a terrific way to navigate Qualicum hills.

Julie and Ruby run the Pedigo store in Qualicum with charm, character and proffesionalism. Always friendly, ready to coax you into trying their email bikes, it is hard to say no.
Go for a pedal and you too will be hooked. Pedaling up hills becomes a joy, no need to sweat the ride to work, the electric power assists you to whatever level you wish. If you desire a full workout you can switch have it off.
My Pedigo experience was so good I purchased one. In one month over 500 km have been put on.Love it, plus enjoy dropping into this friendly shop.
Please note for those visiting or just want to have a fun day, they have a rental program

So much FUN with Pedego Bikes! Superior staff explained our bikes and great routes to take. We had to pull over as we were laughing so hard. We felt like we were cheating, not having to peddle so hard all over Qualicum Beach.
One hour was too much fun, so we asked for another hour! Love Pedego Bikes!

I have to say renting an electric bike from Pedego was one of if not my favorite thing I did on my vacation. The employees were very polite, friendly, and helpful. The price was very reasonable and affordable. I am a short person and my dad is quite tall but they had bikes that fit both of us. There was also a trailer available for taking little kids. They provided everything we needed helmets, bikelocks, map. The explanation of how the bikes worked was easy to understand.
It was so much fun! I had one with both a throttle and pedal assist. Man could that bike fly. On a straight with the highest set of assist I was able get to and hold the bike at 31km/hr! On a really steep hill I managed to get to 41km! I was almost the same speed as the traffic. Being way more of an adrenaline junkie than the rest of my family I ended up way ahead of them.
Yet they could easily catch up to me when I stopped for them. They really liked how easy it was to enjoy riding along the beach and exploring the town. Despite all the hills it did not slow us down or push us hard. I got a pretty good workout pushing myself faster. Everyone else really enjoyed the bike ride without ending up a panting mess like me. In fact my brother barely broke a sweat letting the bike do most of the work.
Overall I highly recommend renting a bike from them for a couple of hours. It is real blast and great way to spend the morning or afternoon. I suggest bringing a pair of sunglasses.

My father and I decided to take a side trip over to Lasqueti Island for the day, and I researched Pedego ahead of time. We made two phone calls ahead of time to get more details, and they could not have been friendlier or more informative. They even agreed to meet us at the ferry terminal for both the inbound and outbound trips, saving us a great amount of time (and a large amount of space in our rental car).
The bikes were solidly constructed, in immaculate condition, and provided plenty of juice for the hilly terrain on Lasqueti. We returned back to the big island with a quarter-charge still remaining after at least 4 hours of exploring. Both ladies that we dealt with (Ruby and someone whose name escapes me) were warm and personable from start to finish. If you are from outside Qualicum and interested in touring the area, I would highly recommend this place!

Looking for a fun and unique activity to do with our teens, we headed into Pedego. I wondered if my kids might think it was silly to get electric bikes as they are both athletically accomplished; however, they were all for the novelty. Well, we had a ball!! We took a tour through bike paths and quiet streets to the Morningstar Farm for a nice little walk around and enjoyed cheese and drinks at their little cafe, then headed toward the water front area and sought out several beach access areas. We thoroughly enjoyed buzzing along with our throttles making the travel a breeze and the hills non-existent. So much fun! Now we all want to own an electric bike. The shop was very welcoming and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend to people of all ages and abilities. You won't regret it!
