Little Engine was our first stop on our girls weekend from Whistler, and what an experience. Joe took such great care of us and guided us through their range of fantastic wines with great enthusiasm. Thank you, Joe, for giving us a great start to our trip!

Little Engines Winery is an absolutely MUST check out winery. The wine is amazing and the staff are incredible. The tasting room is gorgeous, make sure you make your reservations! The property is so nice too. I highly recommend making this a stop for your wine tastings!

The tasting experience is advertised as being 45 minutes, but the only reason it was that long is that we were left alone for large periods of time. We were seated for our reservation on their lovely patio by one person. Then after several minutes a second person brought the five wines we would be tasting, told us some minimal information about the first one, then left us alone again for several minutes, so there was no opportunity to ask questions. But we thought maybe she just wanted us to enjoy the tasting without being hovered over. She came back and told us about the second wine, then left again, and just never returned. We could see her boxing wine in the shop, and were trying to catch her eye, but after about 10 minutes it became clear she simply wasn't coming back. We were finally able to snag a third employee walking by who told us about the remaining three wines all at once, and encouraged us to ask any questions at that time "in case I don't get a chance to come back to you". In this time of COVID it was the only one of the nine wineries we visited that didn't have a dedicated host for each party. The wine is quite nice, especially the Chardonnay, (though also quite expensive) but we were so put off by the experience that we just paid the tasting fee and left without buying anything and spent our money elsewhere. Perhaps we were there on an off day, as a friend of mine swears by this place, but based on our visit we feel there are far better experiences to be had at almost any of the nearby wineries.…

Our $20 pp tasting started off with three of the five wines being plunked down in front of us in the hot sun. Not a lot of explanation and we only liked one of them. Our next ‘host’ brought the two reds. He was more attentive but we wouldn’t have bought any of the wine if it was half the price. It’s a seated tasting with a lovely view but a really disappointing experience. We paid our $40 ( for two ) and left. So many other, better wineries around... …

Wine is subjective and we are not the winery for everyone. During Covid we are doing our best to showcase our wines on our outside patio which is the safest environment, and can not control the weather that mother nature gives us. We are are sorry to hear you did not get the experience we strive to give.

Little Engine knows service!! Although I had a reservation for later in the week-they were happy to squeeze me in early. They are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir house. These are the wines you MUST try. Susan, who was stolen away from Poplar Grove, knows her wine and it shines through her face. The wine is excellent but the experience will keep this winery on your list from year to year. …
