Perfect walk
Nov. 2020
We were lucky to encounter a beautiful fall day, but I'm sure this is beautiful year round. Really nicely maintained trail that winds along really interesting terrain. Very nice gradual grade would be good for biking too. Great to get outside and get a feel for the area.

Lovely views

Different from the Myra canyon in that the pattern is more desert than forest. Lovely walk, easy path. No designated parking lot - we just parked on Vancouver Avenue. Beautiful views.

Great potential, but needs lots of work!

More attention needs to be paid to make this a truly world-class cycle trail. Much of the train (from Ruth Station to Penticton) is very sandy, and difficult to ride in. The portion from Myra Canyon Station to Ruth Station is good, and has 18 trestles. All terrain vehicles are allowed on most of the trail (except for Myra to Ruth) and sadly these vehicles ruin the base by doing wheelies and other stunts. European visitors would flock to this trail in droves if the agencies responsible would recognize the missed opportunity that the Trail presents to bring cyclists from all over the world to sample the wines, culinary attractions of the Okanagan.; Politicians: pay atttention!!

Rail Trail - Midway to Penticton
Aug. 2020
A group of 4 cycled the Kettle Valley Rail Trail East to West (Midway to Penticton) and had a great experience. The trail runs the scale from pavement to gravel to dirt to grass to rock to sand. Some sections require your full attention to stay upright on the bike and narrow tires not recommended when doing the full trail. The Myra Canyon section is by far the highlight of the 200+ km section with its' trestles and tunnels.

We camped in Rock Creek; Beaverdell; Hydraulic Lake; and Chute Lake before reaching Penticton.

A must do activity
Aug. 2020
What a fantastic bicycle ride . Only 2.2% grade so easy peddling up . Multiple parking
Spots along trail or east bicycle from downtown Penticton. Thicker tires recommended as gravel travel. Very smooth until you get past little tunnel .

We biked this trail. it has great views of the lake, and we did not encounter any steep hills so that made the ride very pleasant

Fantastic way to see the Okanagan
Jul. 2020 • Couples
I debated whether to give this four or five stars. In the end, five stars won out because this trail ia unique and incredibly scenic. My only complaint is that some parts of the trail (eg from Penticton to Okanagan Falls) could be better marked. There are some rough transitions between some legs of the trail in this section-and this might be where the rrail goes through private property as a right of way. Still, the existence and ongoing maintenance of this incredible trail is a remarkable achievement.

This trail is must do to anyone who is visiting Penticton. This trail can cater to almost any fitness level. The views from the trail are breath taking, the trail takes you through the back of vineyards.

View-full, easy walking on well preserved railway bed.

This is a favourite walk heading out from Vancouver Avenue at almost any time of day. Although I prefer early to mid-morning before the sun gets too high in the summer. It's got bright, open, expansive views over Penticton and Okanagan Lake all the way north past Summerland to Peachland. There's a nice trestle crossing just before the 3 km mark and a ice cream (and soon to be brewery stop) just beyond the 3 km mark. Lots of birds for bird watchers including a variety of raptors (eagles, red-tailed hawks, Merlins and American kestrels), Clarke's Nutcrackers have been making an appearance, lots of rock doves, crows, ravens, blue birds, finches, Chickadees and more depending on the season. Only concern..., during spring, many of the vineyards along the way will be doing some spraying. I avoid the trail at that time.
