The main gates were still closed for the season when we arrived, so we are very happy we found the alternative car park at the end of Evergreen drive. There were only 2 other cars there and only saw a couple of rock climbers out on the hike - a real hidden treasure! Snow was turning to slush, so cleats came in very handy. The initial climb had me stripped down to a t-shirt within 10 minutes, great views across the city and Lake, some more technical sections involved a bit of scrambling and path finding. We tried finding the bat cave but it the paths are not signposted at all, so ended up sitting at the peak and soaking up the sun for a bit instead. Relied on the mapsme and strava apps to find our way. As someone who hates elevation gain, the epic scenery made the effort well worth it (be sure to go on a clear day!)

Walking visit only. Oddly not covered by Trailforks, so we were constantly guessing at what trail to use to return before dark, as various paths seemed to head off in all directions. Most people come here for the rock walls, and I'm sure one quickly figures the trails out.

Ample free parking and there are volunteers who monitor the lots to prevent breakins. On the easily marked and well mapped trails, we stopped to chat with and observe rock climbers making their way up. Only issue is that they stashed their gear and supplies all along the trail, so extremely hard to social distance in this circumstance.

Great views and would love to hike it again next time.

Definitely not a place for an easy stroll but if you are up for a more strenuous hike over rough terrain you can’t go wrong with any of the myriad options here. The well-marked trails quickly move from semi-arid meadows dotted with wildflowers to sheer rock walls with lush greenery. Bring lots of water so you can stay longer than we could!

My dad and I wanted a nice morning hike and Skaha Bluffs was perfect. We visited two mornings in a row. There are so many trail options. Some are a little more difficult than others, but overall a fairly easy hike. My dad is recovering from knee surgery, so he couldn't go back to hiking like he used to a year ago. We picked some random hikes and did Grand Canyon one day and a loop starting towards Red Tail/Doctor's Wall the next.

You can get about 300-400 feet elevation gain depending on the trail. Some sections are easy and some have a lot of rocks. We did see some bear scat on one trail. The area is beautiful with the rocks and lake views. A lot of wildflowers are out right now. I would highly recommend it. Nice thing too is you can bring dogs. Just bring extra water for them.

There are many gorgeous trail routes within the park, you can hike for hours if you choose. The views are stunning. This is a top notch rock climbing destination. I’m not a climber but it’s great to watch when you come across someone climbing.

a bit of everything and you can hike for an hour or 5 hours. Recommend hiking shoes and grips in winter. Take a picture of the trails with your phone before you head out to ensure you don’t get lost... signs can be limited.

Everyone around the world is getting to know Skaha Bluffs. It is a great place to just go for a short was or a long hike and dog walkers (must be on leash). Excellent climbing, mountain biking for all ages. Skaha Bluffs has parking being monitored for you and your vehicles safety. Skaha Bluffs Park Watch is funded by donations from those who visit the park. Drop a loonie or two in the donation jar and say hello.
