My sister and I decided to go for a picnic at Skaha Lake Park. Although a little windy, we decided to walk to this lovely beach. As we neared the lake, the wind became more powerful and whipped the water into rough waves. We set up at a table near the Vallarta Grill en La Playa. After ordering our food, we turned our attention to the lake and enjoyed watching five wind surfers as they skimmed over the water, their colourful sails carrying them over the waves. Joining them were seven brave souls parasailing across the lake surface. Their watercraft sported very colourful rigging of different shapes and various designs on these sails. They rode the waves and became airborne at times, giving those that watched them an enjoyable show. After we finished our picnic lunch, we walked long the sandy beach before heading home. It’s wonderful to live in such a beautiful place where one can enjoy swimming, boating, water skiing or watch others as they surf or sail the lake.

We wanted to hike for more than hour but a bear pre ended us from doing so. Otherwise this is nice place to hike.

Lovely sunny walk in a slight breeze along the lake. Benches were intriguing as were the public art installations.

Skaha Lake Park is beautiful. It’s situated along the north shore of Skaha Lake and is home to the Penticton’s annual Dragonboat Festival, my personal favourite festival. Just enjoyed my first festival since COVID changed our world. So happy to be back on the water with friends from near and far. Congratulations to the festival organizers on another successful and enjoyable weekend of Dragonboating fun.

Stopped here on our way to Vancouver from Kelowna. Really nice beach and the water was great too. Even though it was super smoky we still had a great beach day. Jealous of the people that live in the area and can come here whenever

The park is great, we were here during “lock down” and used the park to picnic and just hang out and read books, they have great picnic tables and good benches along the waterfront. It was just the start of beach volleyball season and a few teams were our, the courts are in great shape, well maintained. The park was always clean and serviced.

The lake was a very peaceful blue-green in colour and it had shimmering stars in the distance as the sun reflected on it. Relatively quiet in spite of the weekend visitors, we made our way to its sandy beach. The idyllic scene was so peaceful and exhilarating at the same time.

Hi, I did see the odd dog on leash but usually during the quieter part of the day. I do not believe that they encourage dogs on the beach.
is this beach dog friendly
