About
Tightrope Winery is a small, family-run, sustainable winery on the Naramata Bench. A true labour of love for owners Lyndsay (winemaker) and Graham O’Rourke (viticulturist). We make hand-crafted, sustainable wines with artistry and passion that capture the soul of Naramata - the personality, character, culture and fruit of ‘the Bench’. We consider ourselves stewards of the land and take a wholly sustainable approach from grape to glass. We choose this for the good of the wine, the land and those who work it, and the generations to come. As the first Certified Sustainable Winery & Vineyard we incorporate many sustainable practices including no insecticides nor herbicides in the vineyard, solar power, use of winemaking waste materials to generate compost to fertilize the vineyard, and social responsibility to name a few. You are always welcome to visit us at the Wine Shop and Tasting Room. Our Tasting Room is open by appointment.

    Wendy D at Tightrope
I did a cycling trip in Naramata and visited a number of wineries along the way. Wendy D. at Tightrope was wonderful! Lots of information, very accommodating with our altered arrival time, told great stories, and made our visit perfect. I fully recommend Tightrope (I’m drinking a glass of Tip Toe as we speak!!)….and ask for Wendy D if you can!!!! Sarah

    Amazing People - Amazing Wine
I've been a member since 2016 and love the consistency of winds from this family run winery. Year after year they produce award winning wines for us to enjoy and this year with the Sustainable Wine growing designation it is great knowing Tightrope is working with the environment to achieve this. The tasting room and staff always make you feel comfortable and appreciated. If you are on the Naramata bench, I consider it a must do.

Excellent wine and excellent customer service
Really enjoyed our wine tasting experience and was able to purchase some wine to remember our fall vacation during the upcoming winter months. Knowledgeable and very personable staff. Also enjoyed looking at handcrafted items in the tasting room. Would definitely recommend a stop at this winery.

We are long time customers and have visited this winery many, many times.

In advance of today's visit, we placed an order for six bottles of wine. The order was waiting for us when we stopped by the winery today.

We indicated that we would be interested to do a tasting and were told that the per person cost would be $12.

Unlike other wineries we have visited on this trip, there was no offer to waive the tasting fee in light of our purchase or to apply the $12 towards a purchase today.

We did purchase one tasting and three more bottles of wine. At checkout, a tip was requested!

We do understand that this winery waives tasting fees for Wine Club members who purchase two cases of wine a year. Having said that, we patronize several Naramata and Oliver wineries and can't manage Wine Club status with all of them.

It was very disappointing to feel underwhelmed by our experience at Tightrope today. Fortunately, there are many other Okanagan wineries who understand that goodwill goes along way.

Tightrope ought to research the acquisition cost of new customers vs maintaining their relationship and reputation with current customers.

Born out of recognition that the ultimate goal is BALANCE- in life and in wine. Award winning and certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing BC Tightrope Winery is estate-grown and family owned (Lyndsay and Graham O’Rouke). After enjoying the ski life in Whistler, the couple decided to pursue their passion of winemaking by moving to New Zealand and study oenology and viticulture. Returned back to Canada in 2007 to work in the Industry and then in 2012 starting their dream project.

Small lot featuring Riesling, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Merlot with small plantings of both Cabernet Franc and Barbera.

Had a memorable and informative visit with Manager Andrea who is passionate and fun. Great to meet Graham and learn more about their ideology and approach.

Very well done! 🏆🥂🍷🍇

Loved their wine so much we decided to join their club! Their Cab Franc and Pinot Fleet Road were both excellent! The woman who was serving was extremely knowledgable and very friendly. Highly recommend dropping in and try for yourself :-)

Not recommended to visit this winery for tasting. Wine is average compared to all the other places in the Naramata/Penticton region . The only place where you are charged $10 plus tax per person and the fee is only waived if you buy TWO bottles per person and not one as it was mentioned to us. For that fee you taste their low quality wine. I don’t mind paying the fee if the higher quality wine was being offered to taste and would like to be informed correctly about tasting fee.

This is my 2nd visit to Tightrope and I will probably stop here every time I'm in Penticton. This visit we stopped by during the week and it was quite slow, so we had a chance to talk to the staff and try some 'off menu' wines. The wines are very good, but it's the staff that make the visit. They are so friendly and really know how to make a person feel welcome. Even had a chance to meet the wine maker briefly. Ended up buying several bottles of wine and are considering the wine club.
