Teapot mountain is a short 2k trail but it is quite steep. The first section of the trail follows an old road then it turns into a single track trail until you reach about 1.5km. The trail then skirts the outside of the rim of the little mountain until reaching the main viewpoints on the west side. Excellent views of summit lake in the south west can be had from here.

Note; when wet the steep section can be quite slippery.

An intriguing point is that people will often leave teapots and tea cups along the trail, some are named and dated and others are not.

Teapot has always been an amazing place, and one of my personal favorites while living in our proud community of Prince George.

ROCK ED Backcountry is very excited to be a part of the rehabilitation project on the mountain and users can look forward to improved maintenance of the trails, new benches, and upgraded parking area, new signs and much much more.

Teapot Mountain is also a recreation site, managed by Rec Sites and Trails BC. In order to keep Teapot Mtn sustainable for years to come, the teapots were needed to be removed for many reasons. With the much needed work required for this site, teapots are best left at home so they stay out of the work zone. The volunteers will definitely appreciate your cooperation!

The unusual decor of this charming hill has become controversial in recent times. So you may find that the hidden and not so hidden teapots that children love have been removed. Even so, this is a fine hike. Be prepared for some grunt work to reach the top, but its worth it; the views are exceptional for this part of the world. At is bit of a drive north of Prince George.

If getting eaten alive by swarms of mosquitoes, climbing an almost impenetrable, under-maintainednear vertical rocky trail to witness a mediocre view…then this is for you.

Nice steep hike with a great view. Small area to sit and have lunch at the top. Bring teapots for photos only. Please don’t leave teapots behind as that can cause damage to the beautiful park. After a few days of rain the trail was a bit slippery, but we saw lots of cool mushrooms!

Quite the experience, tough and short. Very steep climb up, but I saw actual climber arrive carrying heavy equipment and proceed onto the fact. The view is just outstanding, nature and trees as far as the eye can see. This hike can be tiring and is not for the faint of heart or feeble bodied.
